Post by Le Tigre »

I was told if u hide next to an anvil you'll have enough smithy skill to repair your weapons and armor.

Think someone was winding you up.

But it's amusing so I'm going to start telling people it works too :o

I can't say absolutely 100% that it's not true but I've never heard of it in all my UO years and I really don't believe that it'd remain a 'secret' if simply hiding near a forge grants someone smithy skills :-)

What have you broken?

I seem to have trashed my vanq crate in my last house move  but I've rooted out 3 new power broadswords you can have for nowt if you can be in the Britain area in the next half hour or so.

Four magical swords is a very bad priority for starting out. Its too expensive of an investment to lose.

That wasn't very bright of you. Are you posting on the forums for someone like Jill Stihl to feel sorry for you and give you stuff?

A failed repair hardly does any damage to the swords anyway. When in full repair they will still do full damage.

Don't wait until your equipment is severaly damaged. With 50 smith and 100 arms lore (I think that arms lore skill is irrilevant) I can repair all my stuff, even magic. Just do it very often. I managed to repair power swords too, but I've never tried with vanq.

Regards.

It is correct, you can repair your own gear, unless it's too damaged then you really need a gm blacksmith.
