The second one. The poisoning skill depends on the person who poisoned the weapon, not the character using the weapon.

Didn't they change it post-T2A so you needed to have the Poisoning skill in order to use a poisoned weapon, effectively killing off a trade profession?

Yes, but as you mentioned, that was after T2A.

i never had poioning on my chars but used poisoned weapons on my dexxer after t2a oO
