United We Fight - UWF

Post by Hurricane »

Greetings!

Are you tired of getting slayed by random Pks while your out hunting? Are you looking for a group of friends that will stand by your side and fight untill the death? Are you looking to maybe become Grandmaster in a few skills? Are you willing to give your life to defend your people?

Our mission is to establish and maintain an environment emphasizing fun, fellowship and mutual support to enhance the enjoyment of a diverse group of people. Further, we seek to offer adequate routine and special events to keep people interested and challenged. In accordance with this mission statement, we are a non-war guild that will fight till the death! AND YES:
WE DO RECRUIT PK's! As we all fight UNITED!

-WHO WE ARE-

We are a diverse group of people representing several racial/ethnic groups. Members live all over the world. Occupations (when not in UO) are as diverse as our membership. We have a high percentage of active military and veterans, and respect and appreciate their dedication and service.

If you are looking for a small family type guild with a close knit sense of community due to consisting of only a handful of characters representing only four or five people of nearly identical interests, we are a poor fit. We are bound together by mutual respect, fellowship, love of the game, and pride in our guild. If you like meeting and interacting with people of different backgrounds and interests in a variety of activities. WE WANT YOU!

-COMMUNICATION-

Guild chat is alive with conversation and is our primary mode of communcation. Secondarily this website has forums which everyone can have access to and is a great way to reach other members. Yahoo Messenger is the commercial guild message system of choice with icq being the alternate or secondary choice. Some members also use Team Speak and Vent. However, these are not officially sanctioned, monitored or funded by the guild.

-WHAT WE OFFER-

Regular Guild Hunts- Guild Hunts are at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) each night except Tuesday unless otherwise scheduled. Weekly Guild meetings are held on Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. EST with the hunt following the meeting. A designated Hunt Leader leads each hunt. Volunteers step in if designated Hunt Leaders are absent.

Special Events- At least one special event is conducted each month. These have included scavenger hunts, auctions, Dungeon runs, role-playing scenarios, and "Fight Nights".

Mutual Support- Rescues, providing basic necessities for those new to UO (e.g., rune books, spell books, basic armor), crafting assistance (e.g., repairs, locksmith services), and advice and tips on character skills and templates, armor and weapons and crafting.

-HOW WE ARE ORGANIZED-

UWF is a benevolent monarchy. It is not a democracy. We do not vote on our mission or rules of conduct. The Guild Master and Co-Guild Master establish and maintain the direction the guild is to take. Hunt Leaders form the official guild leadership. They recruit new members, lead hunts, organize and conduct special activities and oversee the day to day activities of the guild in the absence of the Guild Master and Co-Guild Master.

However, the UWF Code of Conduct is simple and reasonable. The guild does not inappropriately attempt to interfere in the activities of its members beyond the expectation that members will comply with this Code of Conduct, support the UWF Charter, and avoid alienating, excluding or discouraging members from participating in official or informal guild activities. UWF consists of one guild without sub-groups or divisions that could lead to exclusiveness and alienation of part of the membership. Participation in guild activities is encouraged although not required. Members are expected to respect individuality and diversity and to be inclusive.

Qualifications:

A. Fully support the UWF Charter.

B. Good people skills to include patience.

C. Mature sound judgment.

D. Good communications skills.

E. Good judge of character.

F. Sufficient UO experience to be knowledgeable of UO processes and skills.

G. Willingness and ability to lead hunts.

Duties:

A. Offer advice to the Guild Master and Co-Guild Master as appropriate or as requested

B. Recruit members ensuring that prospective members appear willing and capable of accepting the UWF Charter and of complying with the UWF Code of Conduct. People that exhibit immature or questionable conduct should not be guilded.

C. Assist in orienting new members and making them feel welcome

D. Serve as an information resource for other members of the guild

E. Organize, oversee and/or assist in conducting special guild events and activities

F. Lead hunts

G. Set an appropriate example for guild members to follow

H. Inform the Guild Master or Co-Guild Master of player killer (pk) attacks on guild members. Take immediate action in the absence of the Guild Master and Co-Guild Master to address the situation.

Guild Rules- AND WHAT WE EXPECT

CODE OF CONDUCT - Members are expected to comply with the following:
Have fun, greet each other and be friendly, and participate in guild activities as much as possible.

Respect each other.

Be inclusive in official and unofficial guild activities. Do not encourage some members to participate while purposely alienating and excluding other members.

Avoid profane and sexually explicit language that could constitute harassment especially over guild/alliance chat.

No pking of or stealing from guildmates/alliances.

No scamming of guild mates or others and no begging for high value items.

No monopolizing of guild/alliance chat. The purpose of guild/alliance chat is to greet or locate guild mates, request assistance when in trouble, ask for advice concerning skills and character templates or prices, and brief, light conversation. Yahoo or icq, the "party" function from the character icon, or face to face encounter should be utilized to conduct long conversations.

No inappropriate monopolizing of the time of guild mates for assistance that you can just as easily provide for yourself with a little planning (e.g., holding items that you could drop off at the guild house and pick up yourself).

If you feel like your ready to take a new journey. Feel free to contact any UWF member or apply here!
Note: If your a scammer or if we suspect faulty play with your character. We will not recruit you!
