I have been playing here for 25 days, and I have attended about 4 or 5 of the 1 on 1 non free use mage tournaments.
I will start off stating that the shard I think has captured the OSI T2A feel of things in regards to pvp. I will also state that I am enjoying my time here. But to stay on track with what I really want to discuss which is suggestions for how pvp could be better how pvp could be better.
As of now, the pvp only sometimes reflects who the better person is. I state that because the shard has luck factored into it so much, that it really eliminates the, lack of a better word, talent individuals carry with them. In each tournament I attended, I have dealt significantly more damage to my opponenets, but fall short and achieve second place, or second place runner up.
To reflect on that more, I have died to 45 damage halbreds, a 36 damage ebolt, and the most recent a 40 damage halbred hit in the finals. In the spur of these fights I rougly missed my opponent with halbred hits between 2 to 4 times while they were at 16%, other times, if they do land, it brings them down to 5%. I bring this up because I think to really enjoy this game, I want to feel a satisfactory of winning not be being luckier than my opponent, but by just being better.
On the other side, I would also like to see mini heal get nerfed a bit, just for obvious reasons.
All in all, I enjoyed touching base with my childhood with this game. It brought back fun memorys, I met some good people in A-V and at the graveyard. On the flip side, I have also met some very childish people on this shard. God help you guys. I don't want to play a game that is based entirely on luck, and just focus on skewing luck to my side to win, so thank you guys very much for the great times, but I am keeping this game where it belongs, back in 1998:)

Re: PVP
His suggestions are about mini heal and big variance in the damage of halberd hits.
But it's irrelevant because UOSA strives for era accuracy, not balance.

Re: PVP
Aye, these suggestions are not new. They get brought up often, but without some evidence that the current mechanics are inaccurate they will remain as-is.
Since weapon dmg was recently corrected its harder to kill people due to fluke big hally hits, if thats any conciliation.

Re: PVP
I understand what you are saying, but have to disagree. Of course there are elements of luck, what with 50/50 chance to hit someone, how big a hally hit you'll get, etc. But more often than not, look in the final rounds for the tourneys and you will see A LOT of familiar faces. Sandro doesn't win 50% of the time just because he is luckyJason wrote:As of now, the pvp only sometimes reflects who the better person is. Re: PVP
I dunno Sandro still wins most tournys as long as nightshark or beatingu aren't there. Theres no way to eliminate luck but the way damages is now its pretty easy to heal out of most combos and takes a sustained ability to keep you healing your self until you're oom and die after 5 mins. You're rarely going to get a kill from just exp+eb+hally in the first 3 seconds.

Re: PVP
Something needs to be done about sudden death is all. Currently two decently skilled PvPers should be able to survive against each other until SD (unless one really screws up or lands a string of huge damages which is uncommon).
Sudden death is current set up in a way that does not reward you for conserving mana, which in a long fight is the only way to distinguish who is currently winning or losing. SD is just a spam of harms/hallys and whoever rolls the best dice for the last 30-60s wins the fight.
