You sell wood?
Do you sell it for 3gp per? Why? Is there no difference between a pc's time and the luxory of buying bulk at once and a npc who regenerates wares?
My point... I'm not saying lets rob the patrons or change the economy as a whole. I'm saying your time of chopping, and the buyers luxory of getting it at a one stop location in a matter of seconds is worth a bit more. If they want 10k+ of boards and only want to pay 3gp then fine. Let them get it from an npc, or chop it themselves.
Take some pride in your ljing and don't be afraid to ask for that extra gp or two more. 5gp or bust imho. Charge it and they'll come around eventually.

Re: You sell wood?
Well, there is another side... You cant always sell wood due to the economy here. It will be a long time if i ever break even on my crafter.
I know i had to spam quite a bit to sell wood in between orders.
When i was selling wood i wood cut 5k, goto the banks and spam to sell. it wasnt easy. Every now and then id find someone who would buy what i had and order another 10-20k or whatever.
So if i put a order in for 50k boards @ 150k
there is convenience on my end for getting it at 3 gp per and also convenience on the choppers end for knowing he can take a week or two weeks or whatever to cut and he is guaranteed paid for his efforts.
I have seen the same trend in inggots. When people are buying you can get 8 and even 9 per. I buy in down times for usually 6.5-7 max.

LJ
- East to gain skill
- Lots of trees
- Logs make into boards without having to go to a add-on to
- Risk free (Lots of trees, no pk hot spots as you can go whereever)
- Tools are not as expensive + Have more durability.
- 10 Boards at a time, you can get 30-40 logs off of one tree.
Mining
- Hotspots/pking risk
- Hard to gain skill
- Have to drag ore to an add on and go to the bank/house regularly to drop off loot.
- Run out of places to mine quickly
- Tools break often
- Monsters usually near mines/mountains
- Smelting sometimes loses half of your ore.
no, boards should stay at 2-3 gps each.

Re: You sell wood?
Its quite simple really. For an extra gold or two per board you can get the high quality orcish chopped wood. This prime wood is better than others because an orcs strength allows them to not only chop the tree in one swift blow (no tree suffering) but they can catch the logs before they hit the ground.
This provides you top quality at minimal harm to nature.
Besides, if you all don't buy the wood from Xukluk he's gonna stop chopping trees and start chopping people...do you really wanna be responsible for that?

Re: You sell wood?
Im not saying it should be 2-3 or 4 per. It is all supply and demand. If you get orders placed at 4 and can spam sell at 4 then start trying for 5.
I just dont think the demand is there for the supply side to require more than 3-4.
I always tried to sell for 4 but if push came to shove i would go 3 as it typically is a buyers market with boards.
Thats one thing i always LOVED about this game... the ecomony is a living creature..
Bunch of peeps trying to do carp/bower and boards are going for 5-6 per... Since boards are going for so much 20 new people start chopping wood. Ofcourse the supply now will overtake the demand and back down the prices go... so 30 people stop chopping wood.... and i think we go back to the start of this paragraph with the loop

The first thing i thought of when i read this thread was.... the orcs (since they have numbers) should take a sweep once or twice a night of good wooded areas and kill any LJS they find...
Then set your own market on boards.... but with NPC's selling at 3 and demand not being constant it would be tough to pull off!

Hoots, I actually can see where you're coming from and in line with that thinking it isn't such a bad thing. When it works out that way atleast. ^_^Hoots wrote:Well, there is another side... It isn't risk free either... you know what Keuse... That post is retarded I'll let you rethink it or atleast go out and try both by for yourself cause It's obvious you've done neither.

Re: You sell wood?
this entire thread can be summed up and solved in a nice little on liner
supply and demand
this will determine the cost of products

Actually yes I have and your douchebaggery on the forums makes the orcs look like shit, just thought you should know.Xukluk Tuguznal wrote:lolol, keuse wrote:LJ

Don't get pissy man cause your facts were faulty. That isn't my fault, and why is it with you the sum brings down the whole? If that were the case then you would make us all look like shit from your constant whines =/. However, we look past you and keep moving. Why? Cause one person doesn't define a guild, much as one person doesn't define a server.
Fact, LJing is harder to gain than Mining.
Fact, Both involve Risk
Fact, You can mine hop from town to town in guards to mine.
Fact, Can't do that in a town with ljing
Fact, Mining wasn't even being discussed other than its use as an example by Hoots.
So where did the faulty comparison come from. That is why your post annoyed the hell outta me. You used Mining as a basis for your argument as to why boards are 3gp. When in fact your observations are flawed by almost 90%...

Re: You sell wood?
The amount of gold raised per time invested for mining is WAY higher than that for Lumberjacking. Not even comparable. Sold huge amounts of both.
