In a world where there was 6000 people online back in 1999 you would use a friend and hand him the loot, or drop it on the ground for him to pickup.

in todays world, just use a second account and alt-tab.

Enjoy your loots.

The big scores are to be found mostly outside town, chiefly in player houses. And you won't be guardwhacked ever!

Isn't everything in people's houses locked down or secure? How do you even get in? You'd have to hide outside waiting ... forever ... for someone to show up. Then when they do show you'd have to be lucky enough to stealth in just in time, and then wait for them to leave again.

Is that right? Is there another way? Do tell.

most common is to kill someone and loot a rune & key

you can steal a persons rune & key as well, or if you know where they live just jack their key

sometimes people just forget to drop a trash barrel or relock down a table so you can get in past their security. with limited lock downs and secure space most people leave tons of things unsecure behind some sort of barrier so the only thing you need to do it get past that and you're golden

easy to thwart all that but people are lazy and constantly leave their guard down.

i walked around in about 15 different houses and got nowhere. i don't think i have the patience for this type of stealing.

lol you'd think so...but there are a million different stories of house loots in the Tales of Adventure section of the forum with screenshots (mostly by chumbucket and/or his associates). very fun and entertaining reads! I'd listen to what chum and panthor are saying on this subject. bank thieves are too busy being a ghost at the healer waiting to rez to consistently get good loot

i can't believe what chumbucket looted from that castle. seriously though, i don't have the patience to run from house to house to do that. i've only been playing about two weeks and i'm already bored w/ acquiring crap. i don't know what to do w/ the junk that i have.

i tried my thief out for a few days and i think i'm ready to retire him. i'm much more interested in high level pvm and pvp. i've never been able to kill really high level monsters and i've never even tried pvp. all i need money for is regs and weapons.

Come back when you are ready for the only challenge that UO offers! Also, if you are just camping at random houses, you are doing it wrong!
