I found UOSA from a recent post on Reddit aswell :) Seemed to be a lot of ex-UO players on there.

And now that Digg has imploded, reddit has more users than it used to. Personally I'm not much of a reddit fan, it looks too ugly, but whatever works in bringing the players!

I think this would be a really cool idea. The Internets a big big place. Maybe we should start a thread for fliers and the such we could print off and place at places we frequent in meatspace.
^^ This

If there were flyers made I would print off hundreds of copies and post them all around town.

We must have some skilled publicists within our ranks. Would anyone be willing to put together a "media-kit"?

I'd be willing to do some editing, but designing I can't really do much on.

OK guys,

First of all, I am into the facebook advertising for my job so I know how to handle it well and get the best out of it (even though it's not the best media out there) so I gave it a shot and paid myself for the fees. don't worry ...

Here are the results :

4 days ad, 20€ costs :

304,000 impressions
147 clicks
average cost per click : 0.14€
average cost per 1,000 impression : 0.07€

we pay facebook per click

I could have been able to invest much more as my daily limit of 5€ was reached quickly.

Fyi, i only targeted fans of Ultima Online pages... that's not much peeps, but still we got 150 clicks rapidly.

It would be good to have a adveristing center, here. I can take care of it. But i need some peeps expert in google ads, community sites ads, etc.

If you are willing to be part of it, contact me, let me know your skills and we will work on design and stuff.

don't do advertising without validating the ads upon me or derrick, we need to have a consistant media plan.

anyone that could do us some cool banner + statics images in a few different standard formats, that would be perfect too.

Here is our facebook group :

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/gro ... 0771908003

please all join in

we need an expert to make us a VERY nice logo there, that will remain all the time

Ideally it would reflect the good old time UO picture like these ones :

http://uo.stratics.com/content/wallpape ... antmed.jpg
http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/misc-games/4352-1.jpg

but also adding our identity as a private shard, UO Second Age or Ultima Online Second age

we need someone to work on this quickly

thanks

Here's a Fan page for UO Second Age, it's better than a group because it's public, therefore Search engines will be able to crawl and index this, and hopefully it'll rank well with the main UOSA site, taking up another spot on page 1 of Google, preventing some other wannabe T2A shard from leeching any potential visitors from our bucket :)

Where would an optimal location be to post an ad for this shard on craigslist.com? I was thinking the For Sale-Free, Discussion forum-Gaming, or Community-Activities section. I am not too familiar with craigslist myself. Can a post be posted internationally or is it strictly by town?

I was fascinated by the joinuo site Derrick made and wanted to find as many top sites as I could. Added secondage to a bunch of them
http://libertytravelusa.blogspot.com/20 ... sites.html
http://libertytravelusa.blogspot.com/20 ... tes-2.html

I'll send Derrick the code so he can add them to the vote page if he wishes.

I sell online marketing services these days :) but have built tons of links for uosecondage in the past for free. Rankings are doing really well for even the term ultima online. As there are some skilled people helping work on the shard, obviously the most important - Derrick. Dan from oldschoolapps and many others as well. I currently have a fb campaign running at .02 cents per click for another project but Bigoud would be best to handle that aspect.

I think the best ROI is going to be search engine traffic, organic versus paid, as it typically converts the best and lasts much longer than other forms of advertising.

I have a youtube channel with 30,000 friends. My videos suck but if anyone wants to make videos I can upload and get a bunch of hits for them. We can optimize the title too such as Ultima Online Free Shard, Best UO Free Shard, etc. Would be a great way to contribute to shard brand and traffic without costing $$.

What you can send me to help:
500 word original article - anything related to ultima online at all or video games (I'll syndicate it)
Ingame Video in format ready to be uploaded to Youtube (i'll post it)

You could always buy TweetAdder as well to increase twitter followers
http://twitter.com/gamefriends
And/or tubetoolbox for youtube
http://youtube.com/user/gamefriendsvideo

Then again don't feel pressure to do the marketing if you are playing, as it's a great shard and you are keeping it alive just by your presence :P

im not sure how some of you will think about this, but world of warcraft chat might be a good play to advertise. especially considering you can make a trial account and do it for free across alot of servers.
