Potential way to promote the server?
Potential way to promote the server?
I recently came across an interesting website which offers a bunch of old games at really low prices, and some games for free. I wonder if it would be possible to get them to list this server as a free "Classic" Ultima Online game...
The website is here: http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/
GOG = Good Old Games
Probably a dangerous move, considering EA copyrights, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

best way to promote this shard, hands down. last time someone made an effort, there was a guild of 100 newbies running amok in my castle who all heard about the shard from the 4chan video game board.
i don't think any of them play anymore though lolo ;[

Getting write-ups like this one are a great promotion for the shard. We are fortunate to have to owner of Old School Apps as a long time friend of the shard. Anywhere you can find on the web to stick information about Second Age is helpfulDomnu wrote:I recently came across an interesting website which offers a bunch of old games at really low prices, and some games for free. Another great way to players fast is post in "off-topic" or "other games" forums at various MMORPG websites. The best websites to post at are sandbox-type MMORPG's coming out or ones that are already out.
Mortal Online - Already out
Darkfall - Already out
Linkrealms(highly UO influenced too, many of its population played UO including the whole dev team) - Not out yet, in closed beta.
That's how I advertised anyway and I have brought quite a few people to UOSA. Most admins won't take your thread down as long as you don't make it "blantant advertisement" and just try to talk about the game casually and post a link. Definetly mention FREE to play and download. That drags people in, also be sure to post HIGH QUALITY screenshots, not ones taken by razor....it makes UO look crappy when UO actually looks nice. = )
