How do I secure bags Oustide of house on Front Porch/steps

I have noticed that there are houses in the game that have bags and other containers secured on the outside of their houses/on the front porch/steps. When I try to do this it tells me "I can not secure that there".
How do secure it (a bag) outside on the porch/steps so I don't have to lock down and release my key every time I want to enter my house.

Secures outside of houses haven't been permitted for a while now and those that do exist are grandfathered, but dwindling.

I remember there was a bug in T2A that let you but I dont' remember what the bug was

Also, there was a semi-funny bug where in you could lock down an item anywhere. I could lock down items in the grass outside the front of my house. If anyone tried to move them it said locked down. However, if they clicked it once, regardless of who it was, it would no longer be locked down.

I figured it was something that was not longer allowed, but I hoped otherwise!

i posted this before on another thread. but during t2a to lockdown items in the front steps was done by locking down a box inside your house and locking it. place the item on the steps where you wanted it to go, then you drag that item without putting it in your backpack to the locked down, locked chest/box. the item would not go into the locked box because it was locked, instead it would fall where it was previously placed (in this case the steps of your house) and automatically be locked down. i dont think it works here tho.

You can lock things on the steps of your house just by using the command, you cant secure a box on the steps.
