speeeeeed?

Post by Gilgamesh »

Ok so I'm still a noob at this server, working up my guy's skills and collecting gold to macro. I say this because I might just be forgetting what the game was like, I have played Divinity and other t2a servers that had very inaccurate timing and other features.

Question: are there speed hacks here? I could have sworn this pk that just got me in Shame air ele's was casting e-bolt faster than I could cast recall. I know there's some kind of delay when you get interrupted, but this guy's 6th circle casting looked super fast. He basically combo'd me before I knew what was happening. It looked like his casting time was like on Divinity, which for people who aren't familiar with that server it's much faster than era-accuracy.

if he has an ebolt prepped for 2.25s, he can release and cast another one with no recast delay (known as "fast casting") which will allow him to disturb 2 recall attempts in a row

disturbing 3 in a row would not be possible with only the use of ebolt (no melee). speedhack does not decrease spell casting times, they are server side.

Can you explain to me how the recast delay works? If you're disrupted and then want to cast fourth circle (g-heal or recall) and they go to cast another sixth (e-bolt) they beat you how? You getting disrupted caused a delay? I seem to remember that, but a few people on different forums have argued with me on this point.

Like on the other t2a clone servers with faster casting times and little in the way of delays, you're always using harm to interrupt and set people up. But I remember during real t2a people didn't use that, I remember stringing together higher circle spells more and being able to time it out to mess up peoples heals or offensive spells.

I mean, if I'm spamming recall how did this guy disrupt me to death? I think he started off with an explo-hally-ebolt combo then hit me with another e-bolt, and the whole time I'm spamming recall because I have about 72 magery and less in melee skills, and he had some blue douche blocking me (who no doubt told him I was there in the first place).

Thanks anyone for explaining some of this, I'm still working up my guy but when he's ready I'm going to have to deprogram from the pvp system of wannabe t2a servers like Divinity. Kind of sucks, I had to unlearn and learn their system, now I have to do it again back to original.

When you originally finish prepping the ebolt, you initially have a recast delay of .5 sec or so (I don't know what the actual delay is), which is the same recast delay the recall would have. But if you wait 2.25s with the ebolt prepped, this .5s recast delay will be negated - meaning once released you are free to cast your next spell instantly. Now the person who is casting recall gets disturbed, meaning they have to wait out their recast delay before they can cast recall again.

Therefore it takes 1.75 seconds between the time the ebolts hit (0 delay)
4th circle = 1.25s cast + 0.5s recast delay = 1.75s recast time

Perhaps the delay is slightly longer, or there is a short "disturb" period which allows both recalls to be disturbed in a row - but you get the gist of how it works, I imagine.

How could someone do an explo-hally-ebolt combo, then another ebolt though while someone else is spamming recall?

not really possible, the person casting recall would have to screw up or lag.

dont spam recall just set up 1 key that does recall+wait for target+target escape rune if you don't get it off the first time spam mini heal until they stop trying to disrupt then hit the escape macro again

that's stupid, if your first recall gets interrupted the mini heal you cast next will target the recall rune (because the macro will hang @ wait for target)

learn razor please

thats probably true i used to have a mini heal+self target macro and i havent had to use my escape macro since i changed it

but the principle is sound, spamming recall is bad news since the casting time+recast delay will screw you. if your recall fails you gotta focus on not dying for a bit before trying again

breaking line of sight would be your best option, you don't even need to really run for countless screens..

ffs you could even throw up a wall of stone and stand behind, then recall..

i don't like the recall/target macro either

i have one key that casts recall
i have another key that casts recall and uses an invis item
i have another key that ONLY targets a mainland rune
i have another key that ONLY targets a t2a rune

when i'm out pking i find it's always the same people that escape. there's the people that escape sometimes by flipping a coin and there's the people who escape all the time by just making it an impossibility to kill them. don't even need to mention the third group who stand there saying "plz dont kill me". oops i did
