Used to play with a guy named peon/peonu when I was in B^C (Black Company). And I'm not sure if its the same Vik but he always used to play with another girl named.. Penny? I think? it was so long ago its hard to say. They both disappeared around the same time though. Not sure what my character name was back then though.. possibly Auricon.

What an interesting thread. I definitely remember some people here, Elminster jumps out as well as Cavewight. Elric....raistlin majere...wow lots of people. Not sure if its from GL or other free shards. I was Lucifer in SiN and Dracul before that, I played with GoD much later as well (might have been on IPY 1 or late OSI can't remember). Trying to decide if this server is worth giving a shot right now.

Yes this server is more like real UO than "UO:gamers hybrid"

The community good, the economy exists and is good, there's diversity in playstyles, great and friendly staff, good pvp mechanics compared to other player-run shards.

I recognize quite a few names from the past on GL.

Jorel - Are you still playing here?

Elric - To answer your question I wasn't playing here at the time you posted but a few of us are considering it. Are you still here?

I have not seen Jorel in quite some time in game or in IRC.

And I dont think Elric really ever got off the gound after he started.

Looks like this is the place to reminisce. My username was my primary char's name on GL, Lufthansa.

Got here by googling "UO QK Kain Jhelom" and saw some familiar names... Greywolf was mentioned earlier, he was my neighbor for a while when I had my house on the other side of the farms fence out in Jhelom, until I moved out to my 2-story by the Falls near the Justice shrine. I definitely remember QK tussling with TAZ and Jocko, fun times. Less fun times included the SiN visit to the farms when they robbed us all of our Root, leaving all the mages helpless, what a slaughter.

I also played Abyss and lots of TC, and went by "Ghost Panther" on those shards... Selling Purple plate on Abyss Test, and dominating the Minoc road on TC with my co-horts, Paper Airplane and ShOrT FuSe~. I have distinct memories of exploiting the concussion/int bug that gave you 200+ mana, and then the three of us taking on 5 or 10 at a time in an endless quest for more regs...

Ahhhh nostalgia!

I played GL during that time period. My characters were Hocus (mage) and Frosty (fencer). I was in Guardians of Honor and Ancient Order of the Ice Dragons. I gave my account to a friend at the end and he apparently got it banned lol.

I played GL from 1999-2004 or so, I suppose. My character's names were so common, it's unlikely that I'd be remembered. My main character Garet (a very common name) and I had long red hair with a red goatee. I usually work a kilt, half-apron, and sandals and often would switch to daemon bone armor with dull ice-white clothes underneath. I was friends with a gal named 'Eleven Eyes' but sadly lost contact with her. I was also brief friends with a guy named Aaron (too common to recognize) and a mage/tamer named Sleeping Beauty.

I was PK for a lot of the time and it was some glorious fun.

Remember several battles with Ho Chi Minh. Good times!
I was in DE with Malagant. But I don't think I was in with you, cause I remember you killing me before I was even in DE.

If even one person can remember me killing them then I must have done my job correctly :).

I want to say I was one of the original members of DE. I was so young back. Oh my how time flies.
