Perma red...make yourself perma.
If anyone attacks you, you can steal and murder on a whim without worry of taking a count and having to mess around with the whole npc guild thing.

You Ping-Pong by going back and forth from red to blue 5 times which makes you perma-red.
You can do that and stay totally out of statloss without ever having to murder again, in fact as a noteriety thief "one who steals from players grey to you"... You don't want a murder count you want them to attack you first.

In this fashion you scream "I am a thief and a murderer Kill me"

Some people may be unaware you are a thief if you are guilded and especially if you are disguised...which makes a difficult time for a field thief who targets blues on the field in that if they die in any fashion after you robbed from them and accidentally hit them you lose your guild privleges. Sure you can snag and run and recall out with a "he he he" but really that borderlines pathetic and you want to take all you can...without any worry you will not be able to steal again should they die unless your next target attacks you.

The only thing the NPC guild does is allow you to steal from "innocents". if they attack you they are no longer "innocent", even if you are red...in which you will deliberately draw fire. This allows you to steal all you want and kill them afterwards. This can be done at anytime but the scenerio is more likely to occur if you are red.

this is what a polymorphed thief would be good for if they take the name of a spawn especially...if you want to run around without a mount that is But yes you can be very sneaky in that fashion.

You can flag grey if you are ghosting or hanging around Spew Gate Vendors, Brit GY or something I mean 2 minutes isn't very long. But a solitary red wandering around isn't nearly as menacing, and the gold is in the dungeons not in trammel (town/shopping areas)...though it makes for a lovely social air with all its safe sales and meet and greets doesn't it?

We all know as long as you hold tight to those dear runestones and regs you have no real worry of ever being far away. Very frusterating to the PKs.

Come now who wants your little rares you got with money taken safely from your bank, or to risk their life trying to nab all those thousands of regs you bought with no money on you right inside town? You fail you die even with something so light as a kryss. One slip and its over.

Thievery and Murder should go hand in hand, whether you do it alone or with likeminded individuals.

The problem is, if you know what you are doing...and don't want to fight you are too opt to run away.

Baiting a group of "Heroic" blues into attacking you and into an ambush slims the chances of that happening.
As long as you cut their pursestrings before their throats.

Template outline please, I mean what kind of skill setup were you thinking about?

With high dex 60 snooping hardly ever fails. Mine is 69 shown now.
You'd push over 72 shown magery for no fail recalls too.
Could even drop stealing to GM resist or bring anatomy to 90. I mean this is just a basic idea. As I plan on going high dex and wearing light armor I decided to GM stealing. With 80 anatomy if you rolled a 35 for damage you only lose an extra point for damage bonus...no big deal.

Every template will have flaws. Thats why you dont see many tanks in plate throwing spells at each other carrying heavy crossbows.
