speaking with npc's, helping npc's captured by brigands/orcs
speaking with npc's, helping npc's captured by brigands/orcs
I killed the orcs, opened the chest, got the key, unlocked the gate, and the npc didn't do anything. I went back to town and the message was still on the board, although I did gain a little karma when unlocking the gate. Is that all you get? What was I supposed to do? I couldn't talk to the npc, and while I'm at it I've been having trouble talking to any npc's outside of town. I use their names and say things like hail and where am I and what do you need which is what I remembered using during t2a.

Say "I will take thee"
I think you're right though, they would initialte a follow as soon as you freed them back in the day.
Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. What about talking to random npc's? I saw a "Seeker of Adventure" around and tried to talk to them and didn't get anything. Can you only talk to them in town?
Re: speaking with npc's, helping npc's captured by brigands/orcs
Some aren't as wordy as others. Those ones, the escortables, pretty much only respond to "destination" and "i will take thee" currently

You actually had to double click them to "free the chains".
When you free the chains, it didn't bring up their paperdoll.

You've gotta use the key on them here to free them. I didn't realize you could just double-click em back in the day.Red wrote:You actually had to double click them to "free the chains".

Did all the "captors" need to be dead first?
Re: speaking with npc's, helping npc's captured by brigands/orcs
I don't think the captors needed to be dead before you could free them, although if they weren't dead they would attack the captive.
