I never took it at face value but is that really the case?

Wrestling gives you a chance to dodge any type of non-magical attack while your hands are empty.

You have a 50% chance to dodge an attack at 100 wrestling.

I happen to know that a fishing rod makes an excelent wrestling weapon.

That sounds like a joke, especially coming from MdW. A fishing pole isn't a wep. When you are holding a fishing pole, you attack using wrestling as if you don't have anything in your hand.

You don't have to hold a fishing pole to fish. You can leave it in your pack and hold another weapon. My 2 archer fishies hold xbows while they fish.

Fishing poles don't even count as weapons, think of them more like clothing. I believe you should actually be able to equip the pole and certain weapons at the same time even.

Aye. They were treated as being in the left-hand (opposite of the paperdoll). Should be able to equip any right-hand weapon with one.
