Taming stuck at 94.2

I spent about 2.5 hours today taming hell hounds and dragons mostly hell hounds except for the five minutes I tried a dragon before I was PKed. In the entire time of taming hundreds of hounds I did not gain even once.

Did something change with taming? I have bad streaks but never zero gain in hours before.

I spent 4.5 hrs in Hythloth taming hell hounds before the PKers woke up one morning and didn't even get .1 in skill up. That place is overrated.

You'd be better off going around outside of Fire dungeon and taming the lava lizards, imps, hell cats (both sizes) and hell hounds, and even the toads for variety. Or the 2nd floor inside Fire is good too if you can manage the spawn, but it might be not be feasible unless you're also a bard or bring a bard with you.

Variety is irrelevant.

It took me 5 hours of taming hell hounds non-stop to go from 99.9 to 100.0. Of course, that's a higher skill level, so it should take longer. 2.5 hours at 94.2 is a bad streak but not unreasonable, especially if you're waiting for respawns, etc.

Taming gains in blocks, like many other skills.

If you have not gained for 3 hours or whatever, keep at it and you will get about 3 gains in a row.

I have to say that I experienced most of my Taming gain walls earlier. When I started hellhound taming at 88 it felt like it took forever to get a gain. But when I hit 96.1 it sped up like crazy and I've been getting alot faster gains.

I've had several walls tho, where it could take atleast 1.5-2 hours to get a gain, then once I got that initial gain they started coming again.
