My Bull Taming Story

Post by Jack Nickelson »

Was curious as to what may have caused this while taming a couple bulls in the Delucia city limits yesterday - mechanics or whatever. I'll preface this by saying that the two bulls were absolutely new spawn - took several attempts to tame both and I didn't get the message saying " That wasn't even challenging". I also, myself, hadn't done anything to be anything but blue including looting or stealing anything or even attempting to kill anything. Actually just logged on to refresh Papua and Brit stables and when I got back thought about getting a couple tame gains.

With my frenzie in tow I tame bull#1 adjacent to the healer hut. I release it and it instantly gets guardwhacked. Confused, I target bull#2 to tame and succeed after a few tries. When I released it, it instantly targeted and attacked Joanne the Healer Guildmistress who was inside the hut. It finally killed her from outside through the wall.

I tried to explain it to some other tamer who showed up and then logged off. I've seen a lot of wierd stuff over the years in different places but this has me baffled. Thanks.

i don't understand why this happened myself. i tried to reproduce this with a bull in Delucia, unfortuately Joanne was no longer available in the hut, but my tamed bull didn't make any aggressive actions towards any other healers.

Thanks for the report.

Unforunately or whatever, I just sorta replicated this again in the past hour. Logged on at the Delucia Inn on my horse and wandered to the bank. Harvested some cotton across from the stable and decided to try for some tame gains - proceeded again to the area adjacent of the Healer Hut.

First bull I saw was new spawn and targetd it. Finally tamed it and on release it immediately attacked Allison the Healer Guildmistress through the walls of the hut. I went inside to watch, she died, I looted her and went grey, then hid. After 17 seconds I got a message saying guards could not be called on me and finally went blue again after 124 seconds - all while hidden.

I went and tamed another freshly spawned bull and everything was normal. There has to something to this.

"Mad Cow?"

Possibly somehow. Tbh, all the "real" Mad Cow type things I've ever seen were on either Siege or AI and they were closet dragons or worse - spell casters and fire breathers. I could've killed any of the ones I've spoke of in about 5 seconds or less using swords. They were just normal bulls that were flipped out for whatever reason.

I got a couple days off and maybe I'll run into another one. It's kind of hard to believe that with the number of tamers running around Delucia that nobody but me has run into this.

Just thought I'd throw it out once more - this will be the last time as it appears that there are deaf ears involved and I don't really give a sh*t anymore either - I'll move to Occlo to tame things and won't have to mess with pretames that folks are either too lazy to kill or leave just for grins or other purposes.

I tame a new bull again next to the Delucia Healer Hut - I mean right next to it. A guard instawhacks it about a nanosecond after I release it. Somebody that knows the code please explain this in this thread.

I've been playing this game in too many places for too long a time. I would suggest that something is not working correctly and that maybe it could and should be fixed.

A couple ideas...

First, be more specific about how this occurs, when it occurs, how often it occurs, etc.

Second, take an .rpv video recording of it. Supposedly the programmers can analyze that for pieces of code being called, etc.

Something weird happened to me too while I was taming just outside delucia last week. There was some pretames outside and several that were not Immidiatly after I tamed it 4-5 bulls spawned at half health, then I went into town and there was about two pretames and one that wasn't and immidiatly after I tamed the one about 4-5 bulls spawned again at half health all at once. It was very strange. I am not sure if there is any relation between this and the other problem but I have never seen it happen before or since.

My time line on this is what it is and how I've posted - I do seem to recall a couple days ago it occurred again and I shrugged it off because I was in a rush to refresh my stables or something. I'd been spending time trying to enable connectivity to both T2A and Siege and had some problems since last weekend which are corrected now.

I'm not taking videos.

It's not falling on deaf ears, you're just dumb.

If you don't provide details, it's (a) hard to repeat the circumstances, and (b) hard to really justify giving the issue some attention and effort, if clearly you aren't either. Wouldn't you agree?

In any case, you've been given suggestions about how to do your part in this and help, and you've chosen to ignore them, so there's not much else to say. Good luck in Ocllo.

Read the entire thread for the details. Perhaps you have some type of reading disorder.

chumbucket, I made a double-entendre with the word "dumb" (and I just used a frenglish phrase right there - POW! Right in the kisser). I'm pretty sure I won.
