Benefits of Crafting Musical Instruments?

Just wondering if it is a waste of skill to have my carpenter learn music to craft instruments? If Npc instruments are indestructible? What would advantages be for crafting GM instruments?

Nothing other than perhaps for decoration purposes but even then they look the same unless clicked on.

Pointless, really.
