UO Ringtones and Cellphone Event Sounds

Post by Mens Rea »

Hi,

I was wondering how I can get at the sound files in UO so I can make my cellphone make UO noises when things happen.

I want my alarm to be the Britain town midi file - but I may need to convert it to mp3.

When I get a text message I want to hear the energy bolt sound.

I haven't decided what I want for when I get a phone call. Any ideas?

How can I get these files?

Regards,

Mens Rea

InsideUO will let you save all images, animations, sounds, etc. There's probably other programs now that will do it, but it's the one I've always used back when I played on OSI.

That might depend on your phone (my crappy phone doesn't let me upload my own ringtones for instance), but the majority of phones I've helped create ringtones for use .mp3 files.

Download either GoldWave or Audacity. The trial of GoldWave is fully functional and good for something like 1000 uses if I remember, Audacity is free. I prefer GoldWave but possibly only because I've used it since about the beginning when he first started working on it. I think Audacity can do pretty much everything GoldWave does.

Load the .wav file you extracted from InsideUO into the program, and save as .mp3 (or whatever your phone wants). You can add multiple .wav files if you want before saving into one .mp3. Upload the new file to your phone and freak people out with gargoyle chants.
