Voting Gump

Post by Sexy Smithy »

So, what does everyone think about a Voting Gump, similar to the account registration gump, that would pop-up once a day for every account? I know its easy to have a pop-up gump with a clickable link to open up the voting page. I believe this would help to remind our players to vote, and in so doing, spread the word about the shard.

What say you?

Sorry, but I say no.
It's NEA to have any gumps, and I don't want to be annoyed by any popups.

However, if there were a system message like world saves and tournament announcements reminding you to vote, and an optional [vote type command that brought up the gump, then ok.. but I don't want anything jammed in my face.

^^ also not era accurate, but neither are the tourneys (I guess), or the world save messages (I guess), so it could slide by with those.

Voting stones inside CTF / DD / Tournament sign-up areas.
[14:17] <UOSAPlayer4056> cr3w guild is a joke. Ran by staff members, multi client pking, this shards a joke and a half.

With this amount of events it will only prevent people from voting

No seriously, thats a good way to remind people to vote for the shard they're playing on.

I approve of this. I haven't voted in a long time, just because I can never remember.

We do currently have a vote command, but I also am opposed to popups and stones.
I'm not so opposed to an ingame reminder, and information on the [cote command on login.

I like the idea of a stone at the events... Derrick, not sure why you're against them in general - for me personally, I think it's an "unnatural" (or inaccurate, as far as we are concerned) thing to see and so I'm against them for that reason. But at an event, nothing is really out of place, and if people have time to kill between rounds or whatever goes on at them...

i agree. i would hate to see vote stones around the world, but i don't think it would make much of a difference to see one at an event arena.

also, a message or gump (which can be disabled) when you login with a vote link/reminder would be a good idea.

I'd vote a lot more if there were 2-3 direct voting links visible in the forum theme, preferrably around the breadcrumb content area.
