most ppl who r against more events r inactive (never played uosa) or PPl who think era accurte is (no mounts, not open doors automaticly or using any macro).

The Silver/Event System was better how it was before its a fact...

i get everyday Pms about how good this topic is and how they wish it would change.
Its the same PPl who flame about the silver system, this system is a part of UOSA and will never get removed. if u r new to this server and flame about how inaccurate this system is, quit and search some more accurate (good luck) or RPG server ty much.

Derrick any news on this, i know you have much to do (mechanics etc) but could you let us know what will happen and if we have to wait an other month, year...

that's not a fact. that's only your opinion.

my opinion is, you can have as much events as you want, - but without silver prices. the silver should be distributed in the gameworld and it should be distributed as evenly as possible amongst as much playstyles (PvE/PvM/whatever) as possibles. as it was, it only made the "omgleetpeevpees" rich.

and from the very little info that is out there, i think i am looking forward to the future changes on the silver system. but i too would love to get more infos on this stuff.

I would really like to see PvE events added to the Silver system as well. I'm not that interested in UO PVP because I think it's a rather badly balanced system, even moreso here, that favors repetitive practice over creativity in determining "skill," or overall effectiveness.

I don't think it's unfair that PvPers have a reliable and fun income source provided by the staff, but it would be nice if PvEers got it too.

Just a few were joining the events without the perspective getting a reward - making the events redundant. We already had this and it simply makes no sense. I remeber having a 1vs1 double domination with a new player.. no comment

Staff, since its on a voluntary basis, cant take the time and hand it out manually. I think thats just impossible. And nobody will get insanely rich just cause hes participating in events. Sandro, Choppa, Pro etc. are exceptions. You cannot judge the reward system due to some players that are good at pvp. They deserved their trophies well. If you want to change this go to a tourney and beat them.

You can farm gold much quicker than silver although silver-prices are already insanely high. Add the fact that a notable increase of events (of course with reward) will inevitably reduce the price and make the rare good "silver" more common, your argument fails.

I second your opinion that it should be handed out among other playstyles beside pvp. Arsen suggested this as well.

Arsen is right. The system existed before the majority of the "complainers" even knew about this place here. Thus it was implemented with knwoledge of the staff being "half-accurate" a long time ago. The decision was made with the implementation itself. Its event policy and never an accuracy issue.

I would like you to reconsider why people were arguing for a reduction of events: They claimed that there would be more activity without events -> fail.

Now lets just go back and revert the misake that has been made - no big deal.

This is what I mean. It's completely contradictory, in the same paragraph, yet no flaw is detected. It has to be a "community"/cultural cause.

I also thought of this, but I felt it would be an undue point to make given the stance I'm taking. Ironically, PvPers essentially have a Trammel to farm gold in (again, I have nothing in particular against this - everyone needs an enjoyable way of farming gold to sustain their playstyle, IMO).

The event system was implemented a long time before the most of you (and me) joined this shard so i cant see any good reason why it should be an accuracy issue. It never was. Furthermore the first time while i recognized the event system i had to think about other freeshards i've played on and went broke cause people got bored after a time.

I think the actual reward system attracts people to farm for silver (that they have to buy from a player, interact / negotiate with him / her) and take part in events. CTF Wharf was a good example for it - lots of participating players (20 - 30 per team). Where can you see this ingame nowadays??? Nowhere... its unfortunately gone...

UOSA can be really proud of this because its not like any other reward system where you could farm alone. Here you have to interact and compete with others for it. This is - within my ken - unique and makes a difference to other shards.

Events with silver are bringing activity beside the peak times to this server. Events without silver are barely attended and only causing people to complain about "wasting" their time ("500 gold ftw"). So don't even start with this point. Events without silver = fail.

If it would be up to me i would reintroduce the extra silver for the leader of the winning team and at least double the events on the schedule like it was in the days back.

We do have it. Its called dungeons.

It really seems like folks are creating a haves vs. haves not situation when there really doesn't need to be one.

Dungeons are okay, however, there's no competitive element beyond avoiding the reds - which is not really that hard given that the reds here seem fairly lazy and incompetent outside the very best spots (which I assume are ghosted so they can prepare instead of thinking on the go), but a considerable and unfun chore nonetheless.

PvE events could involve spawning special mobs and having to hunt them down, taming a certain number of creatures and bringing them, or lockpicking/stealing special items. This would be fun and could easily be automated the same way the PvP events are, and would help bring and retain more people on the shard.

I am not against PvE events, I am against the idea that there is some sort of inherent division between the two groups of people or that either group is treated better than the other by the staff. Both of which have been implied in this thread.

What about leaving the event system the way it is with a silver reward, but doing a monthly thing that includes silver in it? Like for one month, give a % chance for lock pickers to find a silver in a chest. Maybe the next make it a % chance for a tamer to get a piece of silver upon successfully taming a dragon.

The % would have to be low to keep the supply in check but this would also promote more PvE elements.

First: Why once a month? It seems like it could run parallel to the PvP event system with the same frequency fairly well. The total silver supply could be done such that the Silver is drawn from a 'total pool' so that it's impossible to draw more Silver into the game than is healthy.

Secondly, that's not really an event, more of a random chance to get loot - and loot is not the main point here. There would have to be an event beginning and an event ending, but since we already have an IRC bot for that, it seems like it could be done with relatively little work.

The solution is easy and has been mentioned in the past ladies and gents... non-instance based events.

A very good new one is in the works and moving along quite nicely.

Hopefully, when it's quite successful the final push to get the rest of them into the actual world will finally move forward.
