Premier Gems in Britain

Post by Mikel123 »

Every time I go in the jeweler shop by the West Britain Bank (Premier Gems) with a specific character, there's about a 30% chance my UO client will crash. Only seems to happen with my lockpicker, although I will say I am in there far more with that char than any other.

Anyone else have this issue? For what it's worth, my music is off so it can't be some specific music file associated with that place (I don't think).

interesting. When exactly do you crash? as soon as stepping in?

Can you make note of the NPC's that are in the vicinity when it happens?

Thanks!

This guy is also getting random crashes, but in Skara Brae. Maybe a similar problem?

That's a different issue. Mine just gives me the "Ultima Online has stopped responding".

Derrick, np, I will. I might try to get an RPV of it next time. I typically get about two or three steps in, so I'm adjacent to the table I'm trying to go around, and then it cuts out on me. It's uncanny.

OK I just crashed again. My character is Indianna. I crashed and opened up a new UO client and logged in to find myself up against the table - i.e. if you ran straight the door, right into the table and stopped there.

I have a bunch of gems and magical (identified) jewelry that I wish to sell. The NPC shopkeeper is named Amissa.

It's been a while since this has happened... probably 8 visits or so.

LOL

I jinxed myself. I take four steps around the corner of the tables, and crash again on the tile directly south of the orange flowers.

For what it's worth, both times my backpack did not automatically open (I left it open before crashing) when I logged in.

It's very strange that something this predictable doesn't seem to be widespread. I hate to make this recommendation, but i do so only for lack of any other idea: maybe a reinstall will help?

Yeah, it's entirely possible it's me.

It's not gamebreaking - I'm in a guarded zone near an NPC, and I can log back in within about 10 seconds. So to be honest, it's not worth reinstalling. But just figured I'd post it in case anyone else came across it.

When your client hangs with "not responding" try running a razor macro while its frozen and see if it comes back. My client does this all of the time when I have too much crap running on my computer

This used to happen a lot to me. On 64 bit Win7/Vista. I moved the client installation off the C: drive, and fixed all my registry entries and haven't had any trouble since.
