i wasn't lolling because i think its easy money. i genuinely found that line funny.

still probably one of the better places to go with a bard if you dont hang around in the balron room waiting for respawn, because that is a deathtrap. rest of the dungeon is good too, just need to be stocked properly on a trained character.

Then main motivation behind creating this character was to generate gold and I was told a bard could generate up to 60K. The important information that I can not find is... where this money can be made. I understand the power of the bard, but do not know where theses money bearing creatures are. What dungeons do I need to go to and what creatures need to be killed?!
Does this sound like a fully stocked character that would not get discouraged with all the PK's at the terra keep ghosting etc? Think he's sporting invis items? and tracking to prevent PanpipeTG from revealing/scouting?

he heard he could make 60k, im assuming he means per hour. you can make 60k an hour at terrathan keep and we're telling him how to do it properly to minimize losses. if he doesn't have a properly trained or stocked character, he wont make that sort of money anywhere.

First of all, a tamer will kill stuff so fast that it is a non issue, only bards have to keep several fights on the go because provoked mobs kill each other so slowly. Second, taming advances absurdly fast on this shard, it takes no time at all to GM. Third, provoking stuff and recalling away doesn't even work here, have you actually bothered macroing up provoke? Creatures fighting each other don't do damage unless there is a player near by. If there is a player near by, they will kill your provoked mobs and take the loot while you are off provoking other stuff.

Like Matron said, barding is a great way to get up and running quick with no investment. It is not the best PvE template by a long shot. It is severely limited in which camps work well, and at the best of times you are pulling in gold significantly slower than other templates.
Yes i have played a Bard here the only other way i have made money other then a bard was on a t hunter i mad around 250k a day picking locks.

If a player has to be nearby for a mob to take damage now then this shard has added something stupid since last April because i was making about 500k to 600k gold a day doing this.

If 5 tamers were at the elder gazer with 40 dragons and the gazer died i would loot that mother fucker and be gone before they could say all kill.

Give me a silver weapon and send me to the lich room ill make the same as a Tamer on a Warrior cause as a tamer your severely limited in which camps work well, and at the best of times you are pulling in gold significantly slower than other templates.

Why would a tamer waste time at the elder gazer? And I already said just give a dexer a junky silver weapon and they will do well. But you have clearly never been a tamer. You'll lose pets often here since follow speed was nerfed to make whiney gankers happy, but you can get new pets too easily as well since wyrms don't anger here. A tamer makes good money doing stuff like titan valley, or hythloth demons, not a single mob spawn like the elder gazer.

I don't know if the "no damage unless a player is near by" thing is new or not, but I suspect it isn't. Anyone know for sure if that is a default RunUO optimization? Either way, it is easy to see for yourself. Head out to the middle of nowhere in t2a, provoke something onto something else, wait for them to get to half health and then recall away. Come back and hour later and notice they are still fighting, and have regenned back to full health.

You're right in that it is like this now but the great and powerful EttinKing is right in that it wasn't like this earlier in the year.

Elder gazers i think are best for killing as a tamer in this era everything else respawns to slow if you farmed all day uninterrupted by pks/asshats you would prolly make a mill a day.

And yes i have played a tamer here i did not gm it thou someone gave it to me it was the Akasha taming whore account that has passed so many hands.

The point was you don't need a single mob to farm like the blood ele or elder gazer or lich lord. You can farm all of a large spawn at once.

Good point not many tamers look at it that way i never did when i played one maybe that would be a better farm.

If you play off peak, terathan keep and the ophids south of that are a completely awesome place to make gold. If you play on peak, TG are tracking you there 24/7 and you will be ganked in the time it takes you to provoke your first creature. The only ever PK I have ever seen there, besides the TG comedian crew was r-, and he PKs solo.

A gem that noone has mentioned.. Hythloth 3/4 is great for provoing deamons. On the fourth level you can pretty much always have deamons spawned, just drag them around to fight each other. It does require a bit of preparation since there is a lot of rubbish spawn, but once you clear it out it's easy to keep clear. 5 deamons spawn on that level. The gold is a bit slower than the best hotspots, but you'll rarely see a PK there, and because of all the twists and turns on that level you can usually see them coming.

I got so bored of barding I just farm on my tank in the hopes that PKs will show up and I can fight them. Hedge maze (deamon/balron spawn) and elder gazers (drag everything into another room) are great money on a tank mage. The respawn is fast at gazers, and gazers have really low HP so they die fast. I go back/forth between gazers and balrons, it helps even more if you leave a character hidden at the hedge maze to help with respawn.
<green> grats pink and co. .... the 3 of you f---ing scrubs together can blow up a bard. IMPRESSIVE
