Making money with a bard
I have started my first character on UOSA about two weeks ago. When I first started playing I took the advice of information on the forum and players in game and created a bard. Then main motivation behind creating this character was to generate gold and I was told a bard could generate up to 60K. The important information that I can not find is... where this money can be made. I understand the power of the bard, but do not know where theses money bearing creatures are. What dungeons do I need to go to and what creatures need to be killed?!
Re: Making money with a bard
Anywhere you do go there will be pks so you better set a recall macro to your side mouse button.
i liked cyclops valley. its in t2a so if you need a rune just send me a msg and ill get you one.

Re: Making money with a bard
I am still in destard. You will probably get harassed a LOT over there, but it is the best money without a doubt.

Blood/air/fire eles in shame.
Elder Gazers
A round or two of wind, consists of Daemons, drakes, dragons and liches.
Lich Lord room.
I like to mix it up as much as possible...keeps the boredom away.
There are lots of spots to try.
Recall macro is very good advice. Also, recall regs are cheap....so go bank your gold often. No point gathering 15k then getting PKed or making a cock up and getting monster bashed or something.
See you out there

Re: Making money with a bard
I'd advise against Destard. The dragons have such high AR and beat the crap out of drakes, so realistically you're just looting the drakes at 300gp each. If that's the case, you may be better off in the Lich Lord room. The liches also have 300gp each, but I feel like the lich lord will kill them faster with it's magic, and the fact that it has high weapon skill and liches have 0, so it hits them almost every time. And after 5 or 6 liches, the lich lord will die too, giving you a nice 700gp or so. There's also the added protection of the upper area of the room... people must be in the exact tile next to you to target you with spells or attack you. If you have Hiding, you can hide on any tile unless someone is directly next to you (chance of hide success is still based on your Hiding skill, but normally you cannot hide at all while something is a certain proximity to you and attacking).

Re: Making money with a bard
Destard - Many dragons - Going to get PK'd
Deceit - L.Lord/Lich - Going to get PK'd
Covetus - Many dragons - Maybe getting PK'd
FireTemple - Dragon, drake, daemon - Maybe getting PK'd
HedgeMaze - Balron, daemons - Maybe getting PK'd
Ice Fiends(t2a) - IceFiends, MageLords - Going to get PK'd
Titan Vallet (t2a) - Titans, Wyverns, Cyclops - Going to get PK'd
WyvernIsle(t2a) - Wyverns - Pretty safe actually
T.Keep(t2a) - Balrons x2 - Don't waste your time
T.KeepOverland (t2a) - Avengers/Matriarchs - Not too bad actually
Ophid.House (t2a) - Ophidians - Marginally safe, wide open
Some places (WhiteWyrm, Blood Elemental etc) have one strong monster and little surrounding ones. It's almost a complete waste to go barding in these locations because you will essentially just be casting EV the whole time, or using the one strong monster to kill the little silly ones for 50gp each etc.
Realistally, bards are good startup characters, but bad gold farmers compared to many other builds.

Re: Making money with a bard
First step is to get your bank box empty and slam a ton of recall regs in there then you need to get a Runebook.
All these spot are in the lost lands find and mark a few runes for each spot.
Ophidian Keep in the top were the matriarch spawns.
Fire dungeon way in the back is a building with npc mage lords, in that building is a room were a lot of lords spawn 2-3 and a few lesser.
Terethain keep balron if you are fast enough to fit this in your rotation mark a rune out front of the first set of doors there's a spot that lets u recall in and out.
Titan Valley mark a spot close to were the spawn is thick with cyclops.
After you mark all of these spots farm each one for a while and get familiar with how they spawn how long it takes the mobs to kill each other and how long to respawn.
Once your familiar with these spots you need to set them up on a rotation and farm them all at once if you are playing a bard and your standing there waiting on the mobs to kill each other you are a RETARD.
Thats what tamers do they kill a mob in about a minute or 2 then wait for it to respawn then kill it again and lets face it who really wants to take 6 months and gm taming then get ganked by a pk and lose ur pets/loot.
Plus have to feed em set up all kinds of macros for em stable em and refresh em and go out and tame more once they die its pretty much a big waste of time to even make the char.
Now speed is the key here we show up to a spot provoke the mobs and recall to the next spot we don't wait for em to die or loot we get to the next spot asap.
Same thing at the 2nd spot provoke then recall off maybe drop a EV to speed it up.
3rd spot provoke then recall back to your first spot cause those monsters are dead and need you to loot them.
Then hit 2nd spot and loot kill straglers.
Rinse and repeat tell max weight.
Take every gem and piece of armor or weapon and t map if one drops.
Now i know what most people do they take the weps and armor back to the bank and id it to see if its good then they toss it on the floor we don't do that.
What we do it set it all up on a sell agent and we put all that armor and weps on it and recall to the npc armorer and sell that shit without even id'ing it we also do this with gems.
The only weps i even keep are stuff people actually use like hallys and kryss's but i don't id it right away im in a hurry i just toss it in a bag in the bank.
After about a week or two of this if your awesome you should be buying a castle.
Once you get really good at it you start spending 500-600k gold a day on dumb stuff and giving it away...or trying to buy your way to the top of a election and spend more gold buying nuub player votes then the people who actually got nominated made the whole time they played here.

If you follow this guide i will guarantee you will buy a castle, lots of junk, make a pvp char and then retire from the game long before your tamer would be 90.0 or you can get you money back...from matron.

Re: Making money with a bard
Wow, where to even begin. First of all, a tamer will kill stuff so fast that it is a non issue, only bards have to keep several fights on the go because provoked mobs kill each other so slowly. Second, taming advances absurdly fast on this shard, it takes no time at all to GM. Third, provoking stuff and recalling away doesn't even work here, have you actually bothered macroing up provoke? Creatures fighting each other don't do damage unless there is a player near by. If there is a player near by, they will kill your provoked mobs and take the loot while you are off provoking other stuff.
Like Matron said, barding is a great way to get up and running quick with no investment. It is not the best PvE template by a long shot. It is severely limited in which camps work well, and at the best of times you are pulling in gold significantly slower than other templates.

Re: Making money with a bard
When you guys say "other templates", the only on that comes to my mind is tamer. Are there other good PvE templates?
Re: Making money with a bard
energy vortex is good template
[14:17] <UOSAPlayer4056> cr3w guild is a joke. Ran by staff members, multi client pking, this shards a joke and a half.

terathan keep is probably the best place to make money as a bard, but you need a fully trained and stocked character that can handle itself. not just the balron room, but the whole dungeon. doing the rounds will make you 60k an hour easily. destard, hedge maze and cyclops/titan valley are also good. unfortunately, good money = lots of pks.
people suggest making a bard to make money for newer players because musicianship and provocation are free and dont take too long to train. however, bards aren't very effective at all unless you invest in other skills, many of which require money to train. you will die ALOT if the only skills you have are musicianship and provocation.
edit: also, assuming you have a dexxer, you could just go slay liches with a silver weapon. also good cash provided you're good at not getting pked.

Re: Making money with a bard
Other builds, basically anything that can cast EV. Tmappers are great for virtually risk free PvE, and you make a TON of gold just practicing lockpicking to gm. (like 2mil).
I fully expected the "LOLS t2a balrons is easy money, get good newb", but we both know that it's a horrid death-trap for non vet players. Not everyone is willing to spend the time to box themself in the hallway, watch with an alt character, call in 20 mYm via vent to fight off the PKs, bring down 20 dragons for protection, or use tracking and ghost characters to scout the area.
I personally like to fark with a stealth thief, because EV is easy to cast, multiple PK'd usually just run by without tracking, and if they do track, you can stealth away long enough to recall. Not to mention, if the solo pk shows up, you can simply rob him blind while spamming mini-heal. That's just my cup of tea though.
Dexer+wrestle+mage+silverweapon @ liches is a very good one.
The usual tmapper tamer/bard is a nice build.
Certain crafters can make a ton of money (alchemy will pay you to gm it).
Making bows and selling to NPC's can actually make quite a bit if you are really efficient and sell at the right shops.
You can always be really lame, and "non afk" macro 3 resource gatherers. (did I say that's lame?)
Let's not forget the dungeon lockpicker, if you are fast at it and it's the right time of day it is big $$.
House looting is still the most profitable (and fun) farming profession though.
