If everyone would like I can always send my skill advancement script based off of the advancement rates from the demo and recommending the change to Derrick. When doing some trial runs on average a .1 gain from 99.9 eval takes roughly around 27 hours, or an odds of 1 in 10,000 if that helps you determine what it would be like any better.

Also, I absolutely cannot see any 7x gm character being made in a week back then. It is physcially impossible even using advancement bugs. The blade spirit resist bug took a few days to a week to even GM.

I personally love the thought of retarded difficult skill gains. 99.9 -> 100 should be as hard as 0-99.9, imo ;) yeah, im a bit of a sadist

if it was taking any of you multiple weeks to 7x a char on OSI, then you were either doing something absolutly retarded, or were only using a single account. keep in mind alot of poeple didnt have the ability to multi client back then (or didnt want to pay for it, either way). i could macro weapon skill, tactics, anatomy, and healing all to GM within 2-3 days typically. the weapon skill would literally take 1 day. i started with 50 healing) and i used to use UOAutoPilot (no longer around) to macro healing. at 60 i would use a mule alchemist to make lesser poison and pass it off to my dexer to drink and cure. from 80-100 i just left a ghost logged in on another account and macroed rezzing. 80-100 healing was the longest part on my typical dexxer build other then resist (which i only gmed on 1 char). resist did take some time, but no more then a week if you had the reg supply, and another account to assist in macroing.

i remember using several "bugs" (if you even want to call them bugs) to get into the 90's of resist before i was multi clienting. i used the blade spirit method and the hedge maze trick to do it back then and it DID take a very long time, but with 2 clients using one to cast EB/FS on the other while the one receiveing damage constantly bandages, it took less then a week to go from 50 to 100.

its really not as far off as you guys are making it sound. i think some people just dont realize macroing is much easier and more efficient then it was back then and thats a big factor.

this is not necessary.. you might as well be using the rate of time system if you implement this..

I always used 1 account. My very first toon took a few weeks to 7x gm. After playing a few months, I could nearly 7x a toon in 2 weeks. I played Catskils for majority of my UO experience and even created a toon on ATL just to prove a point by killing some mouthy 7x, it took 1 week and all skills were in mid to high 90s. 7x FTL. Catskills pvpers FTW!

If you want to compare currect skill gain with back than, play as you did back than. Don't use Razor function, don't macro afk, use only 1 account, train with friends who do the same.
You may find that previous mentioned 48 hours ain't that far off, only those 48 effective hours took weeks back than.

Layt wrote:The skill gains here are absolutely way faster than OSI in T2A. I joined the server last week, and in about ~10 hours I've got a GM swords, master tactics, master anatomy, all from 0. I was only 14 when I did this on OSI's servers... but I remember it taking weeks, at least.

Edit: Way faster, yet still not out of control, like many other free shards.
What's the best way to GM swords so quickly!? 10 hours seems like no time at all. Is there a way to do it without using a second account/friend?
