I can corroborate this, i taught many people i played with how to do it this exact way after the publish that Faust refered too.. not sure exactly why it worked but it was a bug i beleive. I do remember seeing locked downs in doorsteps almost the entire time i played uo, maybe towards the end it was removed..kill drizitz wrote: there was a way to get lock down items on the steps. i remember being able to lock down a chest inside the house and lock it. then place an item on the steps where you wanted it (not in doorway i think tho). then you drag the item without putting it in your backpack to the locked "locked down" chest. the item would imediately drop where it was originally place on the steps and it would lock down. dont know the dates but i did do this.
I not biased on this, I don't care and don't even have locked downs on my steps so it really wouldn't bother me: just thought i'd let you know what i remember.
