Pacific from 98 - 02
Catskills from 02 - 08

I really wish I could get my old bigfoot drive working. I have so many pictures and memories on it from UO days. :(

Corbin you played for 10 years on OSI, share what the game was like during your last 2 years please. I stopped in -03, awhile before AoS came out I think.. I've been tempted to re-open my account just to have a look, but I have a feeling both Europa and Drachenfels would be quite dead servers..
Sincerely,

I played on Oceania, also quit on AoS release. I logged on in about '05 to "see what it was like", since we got offered a free 14 day "return to britannia". I didn't see a single person in felucca, and there was basically noone in trammel either. Oceania was never hugely populated but it was just sad what it had become.

So where did everyone go on OSI if they aren't in Tram or Fel? The other lands?

Last time a freebie came with UO, i checked it out and it was empty...people are just paying their accounts off so they can refresh houses.

Well... where to start?

Fel is a dead land. you barely ever see anyone using it except the occasional red that hangs out at the Yew moongate (which has turned into the only real red area other than the champ spawns where the PK guilds control the distribution of power scrolls because they never let anyone else in on the action) and unattended macroers who gather resources all day since you get double resources in Fel.

Trammel has gotten so big that you can be in your house for days and not see a single person because the few players who are left are either so spread out or bank camping in Luna.

Crafting is a joke now. GM armour/weapons are worthless unless you use a runic crafting tool. Even then, they can't compare to some of the artifacts you can get. It's really an item based game now. Plus, with insurance, you never loose anything really.

Overall, the game is completely different, and not in a good way.

Me and my brothers always were huge Ultima fans. Started sometime during t2a, and given my playing hours, I played in Europa. I quit sometime after the release of the 3D client, I never got the client, so I never went to those new worlds they created (Ilsenar, I believe it's called).

Nightshark, thanks for showing how to check one's account age. Apparently I started in may 98 and played until Feb 02! I remember so little. Chesapeake the entire time. Kings of Chaos or something like that was the biggest PVP guild. That's really the only detail I've held onto.

I never grew to any great wealth - just ran around on the same dexer for years, getting into trouble. Never turned red. Never PKed anyone, at least not seriously, basically participating in some friend's PK scheme every now and again. Mostly did PVM / Anti-PK PVP. Perhaps some of you might remember me for my obnoxious name:

THE HIGH LORD

It was actually the idiotic name that a friend of mine chose my second or third time logging on (we were little kids, after all). Didn't even decide a build for myself until years later, just ran around with a sword hacking things. Somehow that toon ended up being my main. I was always embarrassed about the name though, haha, especially later on. Worked hard to avoid having titles, so I wouldn't be The Admirable THE HIGH LORD.

When I try to log into ea.com/owo.com's account management thing, it just keeps spamming at me to sign up for a free 14 day trial, can't get to my account lol.

Luna is one of two cities made in the Age of Shadows expansion (AKA the Paladin/Necromancer massive housing land expansion which took an already suffering game and destroyed it). It also introduced the elemental weapons system to the game where the amount of damage a weapon would do was based on its attributes. This went hand in hand with the new armour system of the same attributes. It also brought fourth neon weapons which made the game look like crap.

Map: http://188.165.46.81/images/Malas_map_big.png

Luna is the city at the top left. It was basically a huge vendor mall as it was the only city to allow housing so close to the bank. The bank sits in the center and you could place houses inside the walls surrounding it. There is also a moongate right outside of the bank as well. All the housing was eventually bought up by dupers who were selling illegally created items and the market became flooded with high end and rare items which is the other reason I quit... when EA did nothing to ban people who were blatantly cheating and duping.

I Watched my friend plan in late 97 to early 1998 because the only computer we had a was 486 66mhz that couldn't run UO. I officially started playing late 1998 on Greatlakes.

I played from 1998 to 2006. I completely missed Pub 16 due to dark age of Camelot, but UO account was still active heh.

I was on Great lakes most of the time until mid AoS when I moved to AOL Legends and started up their with some people.

I also played on catskills for a little.

Quit in 2006 and sold my accounts for some decent money. I was late to getting some artifacts so I didn't get as nice a cash out as others =(.
