Question on Stealins success

Are skills like Stealing, snooping, and stealth affected by the dex of the char? Like am i more likely have a successful steal (snoop or stealth) if i am at 100 dex as opposed to 25? Or does dex not plug into the success formula at all?

I'm pretty sure that dex only affects your shown skill as opposed to your real skill. So if you are GM in these skills it shouldn't matter what your dex is.
