Stealing gains broken in a house?

Granted I only spent 20 mins trying it out, but in the 50s I should have seen a gain. I walked outside my porch and gained twice in a row.

They work just fine for me. You probably arent stealing the proper weight, so your chance to gain is extremely low, leading to a long duration of time between gains. Check out some of the stealing guides here.

You should be stealing skill(shown)/10 = item weight to gain. Don't even waste your time with stealing stackable objects.

I was stealing a bag with a total weight of 5 stones off of a pack llama that was guarding me. I must have just had really terrible luck. I have another GM thief from the same method, so it was concerning that 20 minutes of a functioning macro where I was succeeding my steals about half the time wasn't getting me anywhere. Then on top of that I gained .8 skill within the next 5 min. Going to move back to my tower and give it another go now.
