Verifying Account. This is something new.

Post by rouss »

Alright folks, all of a sudden when connecting to UOSA I get this message. Alright, the first thing I checked - Patch Client & OSI Encryption. They were just fine. I changed the client. Same thing. I reinstalled UO twice: used "official" Second Age client and updated T2A CD. No chance.

I started suspecting that it was something wrong with my network or Razor. Reinstalled Razor, same thing. Updated .NET framework. Still no luck. I try to connect to default Razor servers - Divinity and such but it still wouldnt get me past "Verifying" sreen. I edited etc/hosts, added

Code: Select all

64.34.183.167 uosecondage.com
69.193.79.204 test.uosecondage.com
but still no luck.

Oh, by the way: UO client doesnt remember the last account. I have to enter login and password manually now, however, it did remember like a day ago...

What can I do?

HALP PLS :(

Might be a long shot, but when you reinstalled, did you make sure the destination directories (Razor and UO) were empty first? I wouldn't be surprised if the configuration files and such were not overwritten. Make sure to save your desktops/macros and whatnot.

Did you explicitly set the data directory for Razor to use? If its set to Auto, it may still be using files from your original install.

Have you tried connecting without using Razor?

Just to verify: "Patch client encryption" is checked and "Use OSI Encryption" is unchecked?

I can't think of anything else that would cause this.

Changed anything relating to your firewall/router? You're evidently getting some response (hence "Verifying" and not "Connecting"), but something could still be messed up. Probably not the issue unless you restrict outgoing packets or have some otherwise-odd firewall rules.

No, I have no firewall on my pc box, however I have an anti-virus. It stays turned off though.

Just installed off my T2A CD, updating. Let's see where it will take me :)

For those encountering the same problem, I did the following:

1. Deleted UO, Razor using uninstallers, cleaned up System Registry (search for "Razor", "Ultima", "Origin").
2. Installed UO using my old T2A cd. Auto patching is kinda slow (and it takes you straight to UO:Stygian Abyss I suppose), so I downloaded update files manually (had to copy-paste-overwrite them in right order (T2A-Ren-LBR-AoS). Now I got UO:AoS (It's important not to have UO:Mondain's Legacy/Stygian Abyss due to map file (hythloth, wind, etc) and graphic (titans, wyverns, daemons, etc) inaccuracies). However, it has 4.0.x client which is not allowed here.
3. Downloaded 5.0.8.3 client and placed it right in UO folder.
4. Downloaded & installed latest Razor.
5. Voilà!
