Re: Please don't remove guild chat, here's why.
I love how the mass majority of people in this thread are the same ones who scream "THIS IS NOT ERA ACCURATE!!!" when it's something they themselves don't care about, but when it's something they use, it's all whining about why we should keep it, completely forgetting the whole "era accurate" debate.
Lets not also forget about the Party System that must go as well.

I'd really just like to see it removed to stop boting.

QFT. I'm ok with it being removed if/when the pop is higher.Pro wrote:rather than write a huge post heres what i think in a simple sentence without loads of EDIT
Keep guild chat til theres more people groups are too small for it to be removed atm.
Contrary to certain idiotic opinions, there is no cA botting. It's just well organized killing.

I don't claim CA is doing anything wrong. But the fact remains that it can be used for this purpose. I'm not even saying it will stop it seeing music and other things, also works as system messages .. but it will reduce the likely hood of these tactics being used.

Its a shame that guild chat is going to be taken away. If you think it'll stop bots, your surely mistaken. If you think that cA cant stealth archer anymore, your mistaken 100 times more.
I think there is a pretty huge group that do not want the chat system anymore, and a huge group that really do want it. It's problems like this that will cause UOSA to whither up, one annoyed player at a time. The era is 10 years ago, I feel like more people are taking breaks than joining the shard.
This will be a tough one to tackle, but ultimately the chat system will be gone along with atleast a few active players... but hey anything for accuracy.

Not that I am important or anything but I just gave all my crap, while not a whole lot, to some random noob at the Britain bank. He has an easier start now with a 2 story house and 100k + all the crap in my house (vanqs, regs, etc etc)Pacifico wrote:Its a shame that guild chat is going to be taken away. Not due to this guild chat thing... just got bored with UO and I really hate how some people cry era accurate crap then when it benefits them they are all about making an exception for the next thing.
Back to the xbox for me..

Enjoy the 10 different era accurate battles that are posted daily here.

Keep Guild Chat and party chat .. etc ... it fun like this ... dont remove that !
Re: Please don't remove guild chat, here's why.
Let me break it down for you how the cA archer fest works:Hemperor wrote:I hate to clutter the topic, but Matron and her pack of "bots" are probably the most obvious exploiters of this system. They aren't pvpers, they are not capable of pvping without looping Razor macros that exploit UO:R systems. Heshe really only hurts your point by coming to this topic.
1. Lead person makes sure the entire party is ready
2. Lead person opens a gate to a specified location
3. Everyone hides and walks into gate
4. Lead person designates a target
5. Lead person says "FIRE"
6. Everyone double-clicks the target
I know as simple as that method it is, it must be extremely difficult for you to comprehend. It probably stems from your inability to cope with 9/11 and continuing to believe 9/11 was a government conspiracy involving midgets with balloons and aliens.

staging a false flag attack on a nation's symbol to manipulate public opinion is the oldest trick in the book. It has been successfully done many, many times throughout history.

There is not one U.S based company that has an oil contract with Iraq.
Try doing some fact checking before hand next time.
Re: Please don't remove guild chat, here's why.
keep guild and ally chat... it would be totally retarded to boot it yet we keep all the events?
Re: Please don't remove guild chat, here's why.
Stop bringing up events people... This shard is aiming to replicate the same game mechanics or code that OSI used to create the t2a era. Events have nothing to do with this aspect at all and were actually different on EVERY single production shard from one to the next.
The events that are hosted here can be whatever they want just like they were on OSI production shards.
The shard is called UO Second Age not UO Second Age : <insert shard here> for a reason. You can't replicate an aspect of numerous shards unless the product is universal for all of them. The events were not universal besides a select few such as the Trinsic Undead invasion. The rest of the local events were not universal. The local events follow the same procedure being their own unique style. If you have a problem with this policy or the style itself than feel free to discuss that all you want but don't bring the accuracy issue into the discussion.
