Define Unattended Macroing of resource gathering?

I have dual monitors (FTW!) and I lumberjack as I hunt but again my macro isn't automatic, its semi-auto. I still direct my guy. I wish I could make it a little more automatic by adding something that will make up craft when hes overloaded.

I personally have a distaste for resource gathering macros. While my feelings extend even towards those that choose to macro one account while watching it the entire time, I realize the legitimacy of this. I cannot however, understand the allowance of three accounts, all macroing, with a person checking it every once in a while to make sure a GM has not tried to talk to them. I have a firm belief, that unless you are using 3 monitors, you are afk resource gathering.

Let me rephrase that.

If you are looking away from the screen that is fine, but as soon as you look away at another character (even if it is on a seperate machine), you are no longer attentive.

The problem is, there is no way for a GM to tell if you are really watching all of your players on several monitors or not. They probably do not want to jail someone who is not AFK macroing, therefor, it is likely that they will take a few minutes to see if the person comes back to the keyboard before taking any actions.

It's one thing to be watching 3 accounts mining ingots, (disguisting), but I almost think it's even worse to be macroing resources on 2 accounts while actively playing another.

I agree with Matron, although this is certainly not a new issue and has been discussed many times. There should be a small frame of time (seconds) that a player has to respond to a staff member while he is resource gathering. Allowing players to resource gather on 3 clients simultaneously truly is bogus, if everyone knew this was allowed the crafting "industry" on this shard would be even less profitable and accurate than it already is.

Question for debate:

If I'm deep sea fishing and in my macro I put a message that says, "I'm here but on my other character (Biski). Please talk to him.", would this be acceptable so I don't have to babysit myself while fishing? I personally don't see why it wouldn't be acceptable as long as I put my characters name in the macro.
