It sounds like you'll have to leave it private the rest of the time you have it. The person sees that its private on another character so they dont log in their hidden character. So they keep coming back until they see its public on their other character then they log in on their character hidden in your house and loot away. That sucks though. That is exactly how i see it too...to buy a large house is a dangerous thing. I cant imagine another way how this happened than the last owner did that. If a traded house is made public, it doesn't matter what type it is. The same problem exists for all of them.
