Another "my house got looted" thread

Hi guys,

i bought a tower 5 days ago from fhcilitator.
together i logged in and have to realize, all important stuff is gone.
Im sure the one looted it will be pleased with what he find in it.

All tables are still locked down and trash barrel was there too.
So i have a few questions here.
How this happened ? Is it possible for the old owner to log out a char in the tower, sell it and
log back character and loot it ? If this is possible, can he log out in a house he dont own or isnt friended ?

Would be great, to get some answers and suggestions on this task...

i believe it is possible to log a toon on the tower roof. they have to log a toon, redeed and re-place. I may be wrong, but i do remember blackfoot posting something on this a while back

- once the house transfers all friends/co-owners are wiped
- If the original owner had any characters in the house they would be bumped upon log in (if private)
-if your house was public, any character logged into the house will not be kicked out (and could loot)

Otherwise ALWAYS detect hidden!

at this point you should be fine. if he did what i'm thinking, once he logged in & "dropped in" your house, then he'll get booted as long as its private next time he logs in

I need to make it private ?
If this is the case ill sell it buy me a smaller one. Im not interested in a provate house...

well if the house is public characters WONT get kicked out on log-in

if your house was NOT public then there should be no issue with this,



What downs is saying is that if you place a character on the roof of the tower, raise that characters Z level up (stand on some foot stools) then log that character out, if the house gets transferred that player can log back into his character (since its not technically in the house) he wont get booted, and just fall from where he loged out onto your tower roof, and then can loot away, but if he logs out he will be kicked when he re-logs

Just make sure that you have the house private and then use the detect hidden skill.... if you see anyone, ban them. When its private, even if someone did log out in the house, when they log back in... they will be bounced outside. For the hell of it, you might want to check your friends and co-owners list by dbl-clickin the sign.

Also, towers have 12 secures... put your most l33tn3st of things in those sir!!! And always use some type of tables/trashbarrel security system.

Personally, I have a locked door, tables blocked in where you have to smash the barrel, and then another set of tables!!! It seems tedious, but if you just make macros for them its quick once you get the hang of it... plus it forces you to always detect hidden (if you put it in your macro, that is). Some folks got each and every floor blocked off...

complete weapon collection, complete ressources, complete magic reflect and bless item collection, complete lightnign and greater healing collection gone...
that hurt the most. Some important stuff is still in secure boxes but these items hurt me...

beside that, if im reading the posts, i cant be sure he wont come back in my house with relogging his char, except i would declare it private ?

B. DO NOT keep anything of value on the roof
C. Block the roof off with tables OR block the room with your loot off with tables/barrels
D. ALWAYS DETECT HIDDEN
E. ???

ya make it private. you can lock a key on a ring down on your porch to make it easy for u to get in. Recall, unlock door, open, lock, close door & detect hidden = you'll never get looted (unless it's cA cause they hax).

likely you're okay now, but i would definitely keep the house private for a while, make interior keys for all doors & lock em down on rings by the doors they go to, and keep all leet items in secures.

nothing on the roof
and the roof is blocked up with tables, not to prevent some guy falling on the roof and get down, it is blocked for another reason, but it is blocked. this way nobody got in...
Seems i need to sell this tower than...i dont want a private house

Did u have empty corners in your barrier? He/she could've had a ghost autorun into your barrier, then rez in the corner. If your barrier is by stairs, depending on how you set it up, you can rez on the stairs as well.

If you want to send me a pm with a ss of your barrier I can tell you how I think they got in.

Why do you really care if its private or public? Make it private and then leave the doors unlocked or something. Or just make it private for a while... or yeah, just fuckin block off the roof. I honestly dont think this should be so hard.
