Warning to players Matron real estate scams

Just my two cents:

1) It definitely seems like there's some kind of smear campaign against Matron lately. There's been a couple "I r new, zomg Matron scams!" threads in the last few days, and they all seemed to have the same feel to them. So, either Matron is trying to sabotage UOSA one noob at a time, or there's something more to all this.

2). When I was a completely new player, the first deal I ever made was with Matron. I was selling cooked fish steaks (something no one ever really needs to buy), and Matron bought 10k worth (enough for me to buy my first boat). From what I understand, several other new players have had simiar interactions with her. So why would she just out of the blue start comitting noob-icide?

Scamming is, and always has been, a part of cA.

Wow. Not in my recollection. Stealing stuff from people isn't scamming. Stealthing into houses isn't scamming. Turning pottymouthed teenagers red isn't scamming.

So here's the thing about this. And this is kind of a tangent, but whatever. Y'all may as well learn something today.

In the United States, there is a presumption of innocence. However, remember, the laws in the US were written hundreds of years ago. And of course, this was well before cell phone cameras, store security cameras, DNA evidence, etc. In the law of the United States, a witness testimony - if you find the witness credible - is just as good as DNA evidence. It sounds crazy, because Law and Order and CSI teach us you need DNA, two videotapes, and an interrogated confession to really put a criminal behind bars. But this isn't true. According to the law, all you need is a credible witness.

Matron, chumbucket, and anyone else in cA is just a turd. You should just recall whenever they try and interact with you. Although you lost your house, there is something positive about this situation to learn; never trust anyone, and don't make the same mistake twice.

Don't forget to lock your Detect Hidden at 0 and use the skill on yourself whenever you enter your house and move your locked down security tables.

It will reveal the entire house and prevent you from getting looted.

hey hey now, i relise that this could all be made up, with cA & Matrons track record of making friends its surprising it hasn't happend already, When your in the kind of business you guys practice,

Scamming is, and always has been, a part of cA. We don't run from that fact. We are here to cause trouble.

your names WILL get run threw the mud on occasion, just have to step up your game, give away some big prizes etc

I deal with Matron on a almost bi-weekly basis, and personally have never had any issues, and have dealt with chumbucket on a numerous of occasions as well and again have never had an issue

like everyone else who has had good dealings with cA, they have a sense of trust, but for the new player that does not exist, and why hasn't anyone said PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN yet

Is there really any point in coming in here to defend myself? Probably not. I could go on about how these "omg matron scammed me" stories have popped up in the past few days after we targeted a local illegal sheep factory (which is pointed out in the other "cA sucks" thread). I could point out that anyone here can openly scam me, and there really is not anything I could do about it because I am a thief, a class that is always guilty before proven innocent.

Why arent these threads in the trash talk section? They serve no purpose other than slandering myself, and my guild of upstanding bards.

I would like to point out, that I can never see this happening from Tabius. He is a rather trustworthy citizen, that I would use as a broker if I ever found myself in need.

I am confused....are you denying it or not? It very well could have been a double scam....2 fake characters, we know the Tabius is fake.....the Matron may well have been also.

I'm not defending Matron exactly. I wouldn't put any of this past her. I'm just saying that it is weird that she isn't even taking credit for it in private and that Tabius, a disgruntled former member of cA, might somehow be involved.

Getting desperate chum to make claims like that, if i was disgruntled i would have used a fake Matron, not use my own name. Use what little brain power you have. Yeah I would ruin my broker name to get matron back by using my own name... yeah that works on so many levels.

The fact is Matron has admitted it, by claim OH i didnt say it was Tabius, i dont know where he got that from yes he was scammed and no mention of your name occured. Then the stupid attempts to make people think I am in cA by matron after it.

Stop being stupid, and face the facts. Scammers ruin the shard, I respect theives because they do the trade they have fairly, but when you prey on people such as Matron has this time, I am disgusted.

I think Derrick needs to clamp down on impersonations, ruining the shard for your own false sense of glory is just sad. Leave the new players alone. This server needs to impliment a ban on anyone caught impersonating another player to deceive. Enough is Enough.

Populus did the same thing to me a couple days ago. Trophies a house for a larger house in walks a tabius guy to broker. They get it all I just get a big one up the whazuu.
