Longer guild abreviations

Post by Notoriety »

For example say your guild is RIP. normally you use RIP so you can be some kid named Yo Dawg, RIP . With my idea you could be classy and be Rest In, Peace

Say 7-9 characters max.

During t2a the limit was 3 letters.

This forum should instead be called "Suggestions for Era Accuracy" imo

Purple Guardians of Honor [PGoH] existed during this era, probably before. It was an exception, of course, done by the GMs, but it could happen.
Gone to greener pastures.

1/2 the fun with creating a guild in t2a using the 3 character acronym, was coming up with something clever. The limitations made it more interesting.

Initially you could have your entire guild name as your abbreviation, if you hadn't set an abbreviation already, this was during Pre-T2A. The limit for abbreviations was set to 4 (for entered ones) in April 98. Does anyone have any info one when this was changed to 3?

Also, I think this would be a good trophy reward prize, as the 4 letter abbreviations would be grandfathered on OSI.

Yeah use the not era-accurate trophy system to implement a not era-accurate game mechanic.

I want my beetle now please.

I believe I just explained how you would still see these during T2A as they would be grandfathered. I have a previous topic suggesting that trophy rewards should be things that were grandfathered although no longer achievable at our point in T2A.

RIP is a bad example of this. IRL is a better example.

this would be a good reward. it doesn't hurt the server at all, it's a name. there won't be many anyways with the cost high.

Seems like something that would cater to the LEET PVP crowd (just assuming).

Meh.
