Question about Mining Veins

Do Verite/Valorite Veins only appear in some areas? If so does anyone know of a decent Verite spot?

There are three verite spots and two valorite spots in Cove guardzone.

Really dumb question now, but by guardzone, do you mean the area on the inside of the walls, where the rest of the town area is?
