Some times... when things don't go my way... I lay down and kick the ground and scream...

Seems silly at first, but after a while everything is ok.

I have made 3 gm smiths that i did by hand but they were all on the live server a long time ago. I guess now I am just over doing things by hand. I understand both sides of the street and if I want to continue to play on this server. It is rather clear what rules i have to follow.

OK, here's the deal... this is their server and you have to follow their rules..

Example:

You invite your best friend rob to come over to your house and he brings his kid with him... Rob goes to take a pee in your bathroom, he lifts the lid and is very polite... then his kid goes to do the same thing except he pees all over the seat and floor....

This happens every time.... Peeing isn't against the rules, but peeing on the seat and the floor is....

your house your rules right? Ban the boy! You have the right, it's your house after all! It's not your problem that the boy doesn't understand the difference, as far as he's concerned he has the right to pee where ever he wants, everybody else gets to pee!

Moral of the story, don't pee on the floor when they want you to pee in the toilet. It's not your house and you don't get to make the rules.

The problem with unattended macroing of crafting and gathering skills is that it puts something into the ecomonomy. To illustrate, lets say you're macroing Magery. You spend gold by purchasing reagents from a vendor, and then use those reagents with the intent of gaining skill. Those reagents don't provide you any immedeate return on your skill, and in fact put a drain on the available gold in the economy, thus costing you both time and gold to complete the skill. On the other hand, if you were to macro mining or lumberjacking, not only would you be gaining in a skill, but you would effectively be putting something into the ecomomy. In this case, raw resources.

On top of that, the crafting skills that are normally associated with the resource gathering skills are macroable in themselves, and allowing both sets of skills to be macroable allows a person to do nothing and make immense amounts of gold in the process.

Overall, those are the major issues that tie into why unattended resource gathering is not allowed.

I don't believe macroing for resources 'grossly imbalances' the game. That's wayyyy off. I take it your reasoning behind this is that you think a macroer gathering his resources can gain more than one doing it manually? I wholeheartedly disagree. In one hour I mine up WAY more ore manually vice doing it with a macro. Sure, the macro would get more over a longer period of time, only because you can do it while your at work. But take it from me, you end up in jail pretty quick. And the gathered resources residing in your bank (gathered legitely or not) are confiscated. Which puts you back to square one.

Another point I'd like to bring up: Why is automated gathering with Razor allowed, but EasyUO or a thirdparty windows mouse/keystroke macro program not? What's the difference? You know you can do MORE with Razor than what's evident on the GUI?

Basically you can either follow the rules, or try and skirt the law. "You take a chance either way..." (carpal tunnel or a ban)

There is a HUGE difference between macroing and scripting.. Notice how theres not any sites that offer Macros for you to download? Yea. I played on osi towards the end when I realized that they didnt have any gms anymore. and i just unattended scripted fishing like it was going out of style. i had 4 secures full of nothing but MIBS.. and BULLSHIT it doesnt effect the economy... DO you know why I had 4 secures... cause I couldnt sell them... Everyone else (Metaphorically speaking) was on the same boat as me.. There was no longer a demand for MIBS, My guess is there is a reason why you want to Script on this shard so bad...

UOE doesnt interact with the UO interface the same way that Razor does to say that they are the same is pure bullshit as well.

you want to script so bad... Go to OSI... Erase every system message output from every script you run and the lazy morons on there will never catch you....

So long and thanks for all the fish

The only reason that unattended resource gathering ends up being less profitable than gathering the resources by hand is the fact that you can get jailed for it. Without that consequence, unattended gathering would run rampant due to the obvious advantages. As for the exact advantages of unattended gathering, while it may be less efficient to gather resources via a macro, the fact that you can let that macro run 24/7 is a huge advantage. The only sacrifice you have to make, is to allow an account that you play to be occupied at all times.

Also, we do not allow unattended gathering of any sort here, Razor or otherwise. We also do not allow other 3rd party programs solely because of their macroing ability, but because many of them offer other advantages that Razor does not provide.

How old are these kids ? Will they be willing to play in an awsome party peter pan and wendy ?

Apparently you haven't been looking very hard. Google for "razor macros" and see them all.

Apparently so. Never googled it. of coarse I have also never googled "How to spell cat"

I find it hard to imagine that someone would have that hard of a time creating a macro that they would have to google it.

What did we ever do before search engines.

Well that is why search engines were created. To simplify the process.

Not everyone knows what all the conditionals do in Razor. Some people are technically challenged as well and wouldn't be able to figure it out after hours of trial and error. The macros are definitely out there, don't even have to look that hard and you don't need to download them. A simple copy paste in notepad, some adjustments to make the macro for your character and you are good to go.

Razor macros are not the best but they sure get the job done with some creative thinking.

10k an hour, which is a lot less than crafters can make.
Are you on crack? I can make 13k in ten minutes on my bard..10k from the actual kill and the extra 3k from gems.

There's a difference between macroing your trade skill up and running a script to gather resources bro. For example, you can macro smithing but you cant run a script to gather your ore for smithing. Just like you can macro a bard but you cant run a script to go hunt gold for you...there's a big difference man. Drop it.
