Considering playing here
Re: Considering playing here
I would hope you can overcome your need to use Play UO and settle down on this wonderful shard. However, if you cannot live without the program you have already lost the fight to try and use it here. Razor or nothing. Now should I make some cake and tea to welcome you in or hold the door for your exit?

Re: Considering playing here
Those were words of advice. Glad you've made it known you are using the program. I'm sure people will be happy. Congratulations on making an arse of yourself. Script.. i mean SEE you in game.
Re: Considering playing here
My question to you about PlayUO: What exactly do you want to use PlayUO for?
As far as I can see, anything that you would want to do with PlayUO should already be supported by Razor. If you want to do something that isn't supported by Razor then you will, at the very least, put yourself into a grey area by using PlayUO.
That is, essentially, the core of the problem with PlayUO.

Re: Considering playing here
I use PlayUO because it works well. I like being able to run smoothly in a 2D game, something that apparently wasn't very doable in DirectX 7. I like being able to pull more than 11 bars - not to mention not slowing to a crawl when I pull a lot of bars. I like having a map that tracks my party well without having to use UOAM. I like being able to write plugins for mundane shit like stocking pots that Razor can't offer that ISN'T cheating. I like the features that are also implemented in Razor but that work without bugs, such as smart target.Kaivan wrote:My question to you about PlayUO: What exactly do you want to use PlayUO for?

I don't like bald heads streaked across my screen. I don't like my OSI client going into a fucking coma because the server I'm trying to connect to is down. I don't enjoy the OSI client crashing randomly every 30 minutes. I don't like having to run the OSI client on one core to play lag-free because the game is too fucking old to work well on a modern computer (oh, the irony!).
I like quick login. I like having my client store my accounts/shards, which is very handy as an active member of the freeshard community. I like my ping calculated accurately, because playing from Germany, I need to know how I'm doing in that department. I like the sleek hotkey-setting interface. I like smoothwalk. I like halos. I like guardlines drawn on-client so I can keep my eyes where they need to be rather than on the UO Positioning System.

Re: Considering playing here
I dont care, but IMHO, if you cant figure it out with razor, UOMacro system, and through gameplay then it doesnt need to be done. Its how the game is played, smooth pixels is just another way to alter the original gameplay. Also this smooth pixels allows you to run through the shrubs that most cant, providing an advantage. (Just to let GMs know)

Re: Considering playing here
What's to stop someone using the PlayUO client from using a malicious plug-in?
Re: Considering playing here
WO You are so right man. None of this gives you any advantage at all!!!!!!chumbucket wrote:suil wrote:I use PlayUO because it works well. Re: Considering playing here
the all watchful eye. I think staff has to manually watch over players suspect to using 3rd party programs. What a pain in the butt. I thank them for their efforts!Silverfoot wrote:What's to stop someone using the PlayUO client from using a malicious plug-in?
Re: Considering playing here
It was banned on DFI because of plugins. The client draws brambles that don't even appear on the normal client. So, yes, you're running over them, but nobody else can see them anyways and everybody on the OSI client runs over where they would be on PlayUO.bOmb wrote:Specifically the reason why it was banned on DFI, umongst others ofcourse.suil wrote:Untrue.bOmb wrote:Also this smooth pixels allows you to run through the shrubs that most cant, providing an advantage. What gives me an advantage? Seeing my ping? Knowing where the guardline is? Not crashing every 20 minutes?WO You are so right man. None of this gives you any advantage at all!!!!!!
