8 years later...
Dear Derrick, Staff, and Players,
Let me start off by thanking you for your dedication to preserving the T2A era. I played about 8 years ago, and was just as much addicted as many of the forum authors write in here. I played on the AOL Legends shard back in 98-99, If I recall correctly.
My name on this shard was "a Red Eminem" and had other characters named "Pepsi-Cola" and "Outkast". I hung with Lithium and Helleva, we had a guild named BK representing Bad Karma. many years have passed and it's hard to remember all the people i hung with on that shard, if i forgot you...I'm sorry.
I am currently downloading the uoclient from your guide to: Downloading and getting started on T2A. It says it'll take up to 6hrs. WOW cant wait!!!
I have throughly read multiple posts in this forum, and it helps tremendously, not to mention it really brings me back. After reading some of the posts a few have caught my eye.
While playing on AOL Legends I utilized the Lumberjacking skill to supplement the damage while PvPing with a double sided Axe. This proved very efficient and I am sorry to hear that it was during the UO:R era. Is there any chance that this might change?
I do have a few questions that I would like answered to help me get back in the swing of things. I would like to know:
-How to set a macro?
-How to see-saw for STR?
-Should I download UOAssist?
-Should I download ICQ?
That's all I can think of at this moment, but I would also like to know how to make a treasure hunter char. and what 7xGM I should use for the best treasure hunter.
I guess I am going to create a bard/tamer for my first char. after reading that it seems to be the easiest way to make money quickly.
I Hope to hear from you soon, and any other players who feel like adding to this thread.
Thank you,
a Red Eminem

hey man i hope you enjoy your stay, this is a quality server!
How to set a macro?
-press the macro's tab in razor and hit record, then do the actions u want ingame!!!
How to see-saw for STR?
-the best way is, buy out till you reach your cap, then keep all ur skills pts up.
make sure herding is set at 0, then set a macro for herding! you wont gain herding but u will gain str and dex maybe some int. for fast dex do the same with snoop. if you want int on your char and u are going to start with macroing put int at the max!
Should I download UOAssist?
-no, you download razor to run UO, which also has many plus more of the perks of uoassist.
Should I download ICQ?
-not really, uosc has a HIRC channel

The double sided axe, and in particular the "supplement[ation]" of PvP damage using lumberjacking, was introduced with UO:R, correct.
If you played before this time then you must realise how relentlessly shit UO:R and following eras were.

Re: 8 years later...
UO:R was actually a very decent & PvP filled Era..
I guess it all depends on how you took the changes..

I actually loved UO:R more than T2A, a lot more : D
Re: 8 years later...
yea I didn't mind alot of UO:R (although trammel was whack), I just hated the implimentation of insurance whatever era that was. And AOS was complete shit, that's when I quit.

Re: 8 years later...
UO PVP without precasting was a joke. Totally ruined any potential for mages to effectively kill anyone solo, not even considering how stupidly more overpowered they made dexxers.
Re: 8 years later...
I thought the insta-hit was always the most fun PvP system, unfortunately I didnt play enough during the time to have the skills to PvP effectively during t2a. So I actually did most of my PvP during UO:R, I had a blast.

To whom it may concern,
I have successfully downloaded everything asked, but I have run into a light problem. When the box comes up after running Razor, where you enter the uoclient, it says "Auto-detect", When I search manually through C:/Program Files to fin exactly what it says on the setup thread, I can't seem to find it.
If anyone can help me in this area please write back, as I am anxious to get started.
Thank you,
a Red Eminem

Re: 8 years later...
I am receiving multiple error pop-ups...
-No CliLoc
Razor was unable to locate a suitable UO cliloc file.
Some text may not be displayed
Then the Welcome to Razor! box appears...
-I am able to input the server: and port; but in the load client: and UO Data Directory; it says 2D Client (Auto Detect).
I then click Okay and the No CliLoc box pops up again.
Now another box pops up...
-Could Not Start Client
Unable to launch the client specified. (Error: UNKNOWN_ERROR)
TwoD: "-null-"
I then click OK and nothing happens...
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Re: 8 years later...
I had this, I think it is because I used my old UO:R CD, when I downloaded the client from the post on the getting started website, (and don't patch to UO) It fixed that issue for me.
