Monster gating
Re: Monster gating
I remember being chased by stuff through gates
But T2A was a long era... I don't know if it was at the beginning or somewhere closer to UOR

Re: Monster gating
If it was during T2A it was only just at the beginning. I remember early on in my UO days a friend had a two-story with several lich lords, blood elementals, and daemons trapped inside to train resist with. Before I got enough resist to make use of it, they were despawned and you could no longer gate mobs.
Re: Monster gating
Monster gating was removed just prior to T2A, here is the patch note which mentions it:
9/16/98
9/16/98
- It will no longer be possible to gate monsters. Only escorts, hirelings, pets, and summoned creatures.

Re: Monster gating
ALTHOUGH:
You could still gate other people's tamed animals through your own gate by making the tamed creature stand on the gate.
Bring this back please.

Re: Monster gating
Also true, that was not removed until late UOR.

This is consistant with our current gating systemKaivan wrote:9/16/98

Re: Monster gating
But you used to be able to steal people's tamed creatures, because if their tamed creature walked onto your gate it would be transported only because it was tamed.Derrick wrote:This is consistant with our current gating systemKaivan wrote:9/16/98

That way is definitely T2A accurate because I used to use it against tamers.
Re: Monster gating
That's correct, that works here.Mens Rea wrote:But you used to be able to steal people's tamed creatures, because if their tamed creature walked onto your gate it would be transported only because it was tamed.Derrick wrote:This is consistant with our current gating systemKaivan wrote:9/16/98
