I have a pure crafter with magery and inscription. Magery is currently at around 50 and inscription is about the same. I have a couple questions:
Does having higher magery skill give me a better chance to inscribe scrolls. For example, to inscribe an 8th circle spell, I need 80.1 magery as a bare minimum. Would an inscriber have a higher success rate if he/she had 80.1 magery vs 100 magery? I'm asking because I'm trying to see how high I should macro magery. This character never leaves town/my home. Can I macro magery to 80.1 and forget about it?

Re: Magery and Inscription
Yes, 80.1 is sufficient. Your available spells to inscribe are based on your magery; 80.1 = 100.0 in that regard. Your success rate is based on Inscription.
But, I'm unsure if it's "real" or "displayed" skill. Test it out and let us know, if you can inscribe level 8 spells at 80.1 or if you need "real" skill of 80.1. Pretty much every skill works off of displayed skill, but I think there was some uncertainty about magery in the past.

This one works off of the displayed skill... I actually tested this out when I was building my scribe.
