Starting Stats (small change)

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

Starting Stats (small change)

Post by benny- »

A very small inaccuracy I noticed. When creating a character here you have 80 pts of stat points to assign as you like (60/10/10)...during the era it was 65 (45/10/10)

There are other shards that reduce stats upon starting with the same ratio, don't see why it can't be done here.

I tend to agree with this change.

Also, this can be better grouped within a general category of changes that would need to be done:
  • Starting stat allocation reduced to 65
  • Stat locks removed
  • Spell reagent cost for specific spells
However, I can't guarantee that these changes will take place because these differences are contained in the client. Given that, Derrick has taken the stance that he does not want to make these changes because it will confuse players who don't know that the difference exists in the first place. If, at some point in the future, support for pre 4.0 clients comes around for RunUO, then it may be feasible to make these changes (or Derrick changes his mind).

Before everyone freaks out about statlocks, its ok they don't matter once you 7x GM. skill locks are still era accurate, just make sure you teeter-totter your stats right before finishing your last skill.

depends which part of t2a you're talking about. skill locks came in quite late in the t2a era, if i recall correctly. which begs the question, what particular time frame of t2a is UOSA trying to replicate? to pick and choose which "features" of t2a are on UOSA is in a way, creating a hybrid shard

Skill management came in the month of November, the same month our cutoff date takes place.
