Once in channel ask if anyone else is having problems. Even if noone else is having issues, there is almost always someone in IRC to give you hand connecting.
Connecting to any other server other than irc.wildirc.net, us.wildirc.net, eu.wildirc.net will result in an empty chatroom.
If you have any other issues connecting to IRC, such as errors connecting with (G-Line .......or K-Line .....) errors, then visit WildIRC's website http://wildirc.org/ and use the "Contact US" section to explain to the administrators what your issue is. Have patience, they may not respond immediately.
