Poisoning/Mage poison question

Post by migz »

just started playing on this shard a couple days ago...

does poisoning skill relate at all to the mage spell poison? was wondering if poisoning was worth skilling; couldnt get a direct answer from reading the t2a wiki as the article was labeled as false information...

the mage spell "poison" has nothing to do with the skill "poisoning".

(poisoning is the ability to apply poisons to weapons and is quite useless on this shard, as even the lowest cure potions are able to cure deadly poison. - the first thing i found on this server which is not era accurate)

The evidence on that subject matter is contrary to your statement.

This has been brought up numerous times in the past already but here it is yet again...

Cure potions will now cure poison based on the relative strength of the cure potion and the poison afflicting the character. A lesser cure will have virtually no chance of curing a deadly poisoned character, while a greater cure will cure greater poison much more often than not. All other cure and poison levels will scale accordingly.
There are several other articles on UOHOC and Google Groups discussing the ease of curing poison, even the mose deadliest levels. The code used for the potions is based on the decompiled demo formula that reflects the same level of ease. If you are interested in all the information surrounding this it should be fairly easy to find through the search function due to the number of posts surrounding this issue.
