Stealth - Need a Guide Please - or Answers Here

Post by Ptazaract »

Hi all,

I'm interested in training stealth. The description on Stratics doesn't seem to jibe with the guide on another T2A-"accurate" shard. What minimum hiding skill is necessary to even train stealth? Is auto-stealth above 25 enabled? Will stealth automatically reset if I'm walking and exceed the number of steps? Can I run at all? Do we have passive detection on this server (will random passersby unhide me)? The answers to all of these questions are different on Stratics than they are elsewhere. A guide to the rules here would be handy.

Thanks!

You need 80 hiding to even attempt to stealth I believe. If you fail to stealth you will become visible. If you succeed you can walk X amount of steps depending on skill. I think it goes up to 11 steps. Not positive. If someone walks over you they will get a message of You go through the invisible person just like you would for regular hiding. You do not come out of hiding. You can stealth with light armor on. I believe in Plate you either fail or you can't move as far. Not positive on that. To gain, macro hiding, pause 10 seconds, stealth, pause 10, rinse and repeat; once you get to 80 hiding of course. Hope this helps.

I got a good macro going, It only hides when necessary. If you fail that hiding check it tries to hide again. It's also got herding in there to train some stats. Any word on auto-restealthing if you reach the max distance?

Code: Select all

!Loop

All I did was macro hiding up to 100 by doing

Usekill Hiding
Pausewait 10 seocnds...

Took about 3-4 days I think to gm hiding.

Than my macro was to train stealth it was...

Usekill Hiding
Pausewait 11 seconds
Useskill stealth
Pausewait 10 seconds

You don't need to move around or anything to macro stealth

Stealth took about as long as hiding to gm. So a week of solid macroin and you'll have gm stealther.

No need to rehide unless you fail stealth. So you're wasting time as you get to the upper skill levels of stealth by hiding every time.

Still no answers about auto restealthing or running at all while stealthed, etc.

get to 80 hiding first.
train stealth
once you get to around 60 stealth put a ringmail chest piece on.
Once you get to around 70 or 80, put on a plate helmet and ringmail pants.
this will get you to gm

oh and make sure you are doing it outside of guards.
(you gain hiding and stealth faster outside, i didnt know this until I trained stealth)
PM me if you would like a really good location to macro this.

I would think that if you ran a macro in the background like this:

If system message "10"
use skill stealth
endif
loop

You could even include other if's/else's if you wanted to.

that might work, but there could be other things that will display 10 and you may fail/not want to stealth. I believe that you can set a hotkey to start a macro, so if you wanted to go to a stealth mode macro, you could do that.

Hide/Stealth/Hide/Stealth macros take too long.

Use "insert IF Sytem Message" to your advantage. Only hide when you need to and use that ten second delay for another stealth attempt. For instance:

Use skill Stealth
Pause 10.00
If system message "you fail" *** as in you fail in your attempt to move unnoticed***
use skill hiding
pause 10 sec.
end if
if system message "you must" *** as in you must hide first***
use skill hiding
pause 10 sec.
end if

The first if will invoke the hiding skill ONLY if you fail a stealth. The second one will only invoke hiding If you are not hidden for any reason (revealed, forgot to hide, etc..).

I have GM stealth on 2 chars and this is the macro I used.

I was naked to around 65, put on around 15 ar (a helm arms and gloves should do) and GM'd the rest of the way. I would suggest GM'ing hiding first, so you don't waste too many stealth attempts on failed hide checks. Stand in a bank and don't move, youll be fine.

Just my two cents.
