Recalling to and from dungeons
Can not remember, was it introduced together with Trammel ?

You can't recall from most parts of Terathean Keep, and that, Fire, and Ice are considered the lost lands. Beyond that, there are no restrictions.

- On the second level of dungeons, you can recall out with no problems, but gating in becomes difficult because of the mass of stone and earth preventing you from forming a clear mental picture of the destination.
- Deeper into the dungeons, recall does not function at all.

With this being said, these rules are not currently in place on UOSA.. You can freely recall & gate to any destination, short of from OSI* to T2A, and vice versa..Kaivan wrote:Some food for thought:

Now i'm not sure if the date you provided above is part of the T2A era, havent researched that.. But if it is, these changes should surely be put into affect..

Look at the changes for the date 2/12/98.
This will make dungeon-going a bit more dangerous and people will be more likely to run into each other.
Also note that in that revision it mentions "new weapons." What could these be?

If this was implemented on this date, it was later reverted. I'm positive that recalling to level 3 deciet was not restricted in 1999, in or out.Kaivan wrote:Some food for thought:

I distinctly remember ppl losing all kinds of good recall spots where dragons etc couldn't reach them but they could BS/EV because they were too deep in the dungeon. This was reverted?
Edit: Looking through the patch notes, I see hardly any other mention of recalling from 1998-2000. If the change was reverted, I don't see it. Is this a change we could consider implementing? I think that it would probably improve gameplay by forming choke points (ie dungeon entrances) and forcing more player interaction.

While the meaning of "deeper in dungeons" is fairly open to interperatation, it likely followed a scheme that is fairly clearly explained for the first 2 levels. The way that it might have worked is like this:
Level 1: Recalling and gating can be done with no hinderance.
Level 2: Recalling can be done without any hinderance, but gating suffers from increased difficulty.
Level 3: Recalling works, but with an increased difficulty, and gating does not work at all.
Level 4: Recalling does not work at all (leaving the most valuable monsters and dangerous areas to be roamed by pks).
It's likely that for a GM mage, recalling wouldn't seem any different between levels 1 and 3, but for a person with less magery they would suffer an increased difficulty or impossibility depending on how low their skill was. It's a theory, so take it with a grain of salt until I can find more definitive information (if any exists to be found).

That would make more sense to me anyway, I was high 80's to GM mage throughout 1999 and I had a rune for what I called the Lich Ledge in lvl 3 deciet, straight down from lvl 3 entrance past water elemental. I think UOAM, or maybe the playguide has them labeled at "catacombs". TBH, I don't specifically remember gating that spot, but it seems like I was able to to get a ghost out of there via gate. Not sure... I am however positive I never fizzled a recall in or out.

i never remember recall ro gate restrictions in dungs :/ i think there was in siege perilous but not every where else?

I don't remember this- I always recalled in/out of dungeons with no problem. Even deep levels like lvl 3 destard/deceit lich lords.
