You could try helping yourselves

Post by Stinkfink »

You just woke up or got home and you are dead. Lamer/Bomberman/Insert-name-here has just killed you! Thats fucked! Often rage immediatley sets in and revenge must be had.

But what about your fellow man, the guy beside you, not afk, that never called the guards or defended you in any way? The guy that watches, equires and even encourages the killer of your macro. It happens often, and lately has even surprised me how little people care that someone is being killed inside the guard zone.

I could post examples of this with screenshots for hours but here is an example of what I am talking about.

Note: I have used this example specifically as I dont have his name on my screen and will therefore not single out any individual. This is a community issue in general. The 2 names on my screen are the person on the roof and the guy on the osty.

The guy in red walked around beside us watching what we were doing the entire time we killed a macro'er in the Britian Bank. He was more intent on knowing how we could melee someone down in a bank than calling the guards to save the victim.

This is the bigger enemy than the killer himself. If everyone is going to stand around and watch the next man die, as long as they dont die themselves, then town killing will never end.

You should think more about helping yourselves before worrying about trying to call us loser's because we took the 10k you had in your bag while macro'ing.

First of all, anyone with 10k in their bag afk/macroing is asking for it. Second, why weren't the npcs calling the guards themselves? If they were right there and they aren't calling guards on a criminal, something is wrong. At least make town killers work for it!

It is far more common than you think.

Sounds like a bug exploit rather than game mechanics

lol npcs have to been in-range of the crime in order to call guards.. being in the "guard zone" doesn't merit insta-guard-wack protection.. this method he is using is incredibly common, you just have to do it when nobody is present to call guards..

what's the method then? Don't npcs call guards when they see an attack?

you can't attack someone outside your line of sight

so hes gettnig guard wacked, quick gated to a shrine so he can res and come back through still attacking
either way npcs should call guards every time.

How is this relevant to the conversation?

could you pull up health tabs of the victim, run outside and attack the health bar when lookin through a window?
not sure if this works, just a thought.

Food for thought on the window idea...

This was not a shot at you in any way. At least you were thinking rather than making a 'this is how they do it' post and being 100% wrong.

There's a couple simple ways to do it -- they're right as long as noone on screen or npcs on screen to call guards when the first criminal act is committed, then they dont get instawhacked.

I'd give some examples, but that'd just encourage more newbs to try townkilling. Basically use restock agent, or bank everything if you're macroing/afk in town.

+don't bank in britain at all to avoid thieves :D
