MedWarrior
I don't know if there has been a post like this , I'm sure there has but I'm going to ask anyway.
Has anybody had any good PvP results with a medwarrior? If so what melee skill are you using and what are the best stats to run with?
I know the sword/tank is the be all, end all of PvP templates here but I have one of those and I am a little bored with it. I wanted to try something different and doing the bank grief thief just didnt sound like fun to me.

Re: MedWarrior
The plus side of it is, you have extra flexibility to survive a mana dump. Between 45 mana (for example), healing bandages, and a yellow potion, it's very hard to kill you. And you have some utility to cast paralyze, Explosion, Ebolt, etc.
The down side is, armor on this shard works differently than in UO:R. In UO:R, when most med-warriors existed, leather would not hinder meditation at all.
Here, every armor hinders meditation, along a straight scale according to AR I believe.

Re: MedWarrior
Unless this character is a PVM summoner or if he is part of a group, mediation without wrestling wouldn't be too beneficial. I would go Evaluating Intelligence and kick intelligence up to at least 40.

Re: MedWarrior
So you have basically answered this post with nothing of value.........nice one. As if your template is sooooo ungodly l33t that it just has to be kept under wraps. It's a friggin game man not the CIA.ClowN wrote:my main pvper is a med warrior variation. they can be very effective, though i will not reveal my template.
I won't even honor your response with anymore sarcasm.....good day mr. clown
Re: MedWarrior
He answered your primary question...yes, it is a viable playstyle. Wouldn't it be contradictive to play a pvp char that isnt a cookie-cutter build and then post it so that others can play the same?....Test it out for yourself, see what works.....no need to be an ass about it.
Re: MedWarrior
Med warriors dominate in pvp but the bad thing about using one is that most people will run and bitch about you not having skills because you're not playing a 1337 mage.

Re: MedWarrior
Thanks for your reply Voltron it was very helpful, however, I think I'm going to try an evalwarrior first and see if that is effective. If not I can always try the medwarrior template you posted.
He will look like this
Str 95
Dex 80
Int 50
Macing
Tactics
Anatomy
Healing
Magery
Eval Intelligence
Resist Spells
Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. I'm trying to have a template that is good for taking on mages as well as dexxers and the evalwarrior idea might give me that extra punch at the end to finish a fight a little more quickly. I know I only have a certain amount of mana to work with but if I use it wisely I might just be able to pull off a kill. I might be wasting my time but we'll see, I can always change him up if it doesn't work.

Re: MedWarrior
Med macers certainly don't dominate pvp. They are cheap in 1v1 because they take zero skill to stay alive, no one bothers wasting their time with them.
The only PVP guild I've ever seen roll with a medi is ACE. Self explanitory.

Re: MedWarrior
Evalwarriors are really good but take a lot of of practice to use, you get a good burst of damage but a decent size downtime waiting for mana to regen.
I don't know what Hemperor is talking about as for them being "cheap". They are no more cheap than a Hallymage who can (with luck) drop a 75pt+ combo in just a few seconds. I can say that playing a medwarrior makes staying alive a joke, but when it comes down to killing your target, you'll need skill to do so because you can't drop a huge burst of damage in a couple of seconds.

Re: MedWarrior
Thanks Roadkill, the way it's looking you're right. It does take some skill to play an evalwarrior, the mana regen thing is something that takes alot of getting used too.

Re: MedWarrior
You will get destroyed by a true dexer with no wrestling. I would also never go below 100 str unless you plan on drinking gs potions. This would be decent against a tank mage, except we will be guaranteed a hally hit everytime you tried to cast basically. Any decent tank should own the template also.KydVicious wrote:Thanks for your reply Voltron it was very helpful, however, I think I'm going to try an evalwarrior first and see if that is effective. Re: MedWarrior
Voltrons build is correct... but prepare to get hated by the whole server playing a hybrid like that.

Re: MedWarrior
I think it's pretty childish to say this to clown tbh. He was just putting in his two cents and trying to help, it's perfectly understandable not to give out his template. Some people don't go for the perfect 7x templates, some people spend a lot of time tweaking and sacrifice GMing certain skills to perfect their template to their playstyle. Especially for a medidexxer, this is probably one of the hardest and unique templates to maintain. Of course you could copy Voltron's template but doesn't mean you can roll with it like he can. In the end the best advice you can get from this thread is that it's not like any other template and it's going to take some time for you to find your own medidexxer version. People are usually not going to share their medidexxer templates because of how difficult it can be at times, hence why you have to ask in here. Show some respect before asking such a complicated question.KydVicious wrote:So you have basically answered this post with nothing of value.........nice one.
