Hiding in/near houses

Post by Mikel123 »

I believe you could hide at around 90% of the time, if not more, if you were right up against a house.

Seems like it's closer to 60% here. Anyone else remember this?

I do remember it being higher as well, I used to hide along houses a lot.

I remember the same thing. But, it was all houses that I was friended to for war/pvp purposes, mostly around Yew gate. I can't remember ever doing it around a house I wasn't friended to, but it was mostly a sure thing when I did. However, I haven't noticed it being considerably less here. Maybe you have just been unlucky.

Right, I believe it's 100% if you're friended/co-owner/owner, which seems to be working properly here. For non-friends though, I thought it was 90%+.

I rememeber that this feature was added sometime in game.

I can't be certain if it was possible during the t2a era since it was probably added sometime after the UOR publish.

How it pretty much worked was hiding next to a house or inside its boundaries would usually guarentee a successful hide without a skill check even if it wasn't a friendly house.

I don't believe that this feature was implemented in UO:R or beyond.
I'm thinking either pre-T2A or T2A.
