Ship Wrecked Treasure

Post by OC2000 »

I remember back in T2A Items pulled up before the chest were quite uncommon and were something as sort after as the treasure chest.
On this shard it I am getting at least 5 - 25 items on every chest.
I think to make this more era accurate and keep the econemy for this stuff in demand, the amount fished up should be reduced dramatically.
Sometimes im pulling up 10 paintings for example.
This was unheard of in T2A. There used to be topics about where best to place ur boat to fish as much as possible up and other theory's behind obtaining more.
At the moment doing 3 chests im taking away sometimes 40 to 50 items.

Yes. There are times when the shipwreck items just keep coming and coming. I'll have a bag full of shipwrecked items before that chest is fished up.

Of course, other times, I'll pull the chest right off, first cast.

They are so overly abundant that I normally put them in the chest i fish up and leave them around the bank that im at.
everything but the broken clocks those are the "rarest" item that i fish up

I remember there being some sort of formula, where the more shipwrecked items that were in your bag, the more likely that you would pull up the chest.

I remember putting the shipwrecked items in the hold one by one, as to get more shipwrecked items before the chest would pull up.

This was probably right around the time that this system was implemented.

Oh, if i leave them in my bag I'll get less? I'll try that, cuz some of them are really annoying.

I usually place them in a chest on the deck as they turn up, cuz I like to keep organized, so that could be the problem.

Last night I had an MIB that just went on forever...

4 barrel staves, 3 corpses, 2 globes, 2 clocks, 4 paintings, 2 stools, 3 or 4 bones piles, + a bunch of shells and body parts and bones. Kind of annoying, espcially since I just toss all that stuff anyway...

There will be an adjustment to the frequency of these items in the next publish.

Just something to toss into the mix here...

I'm through 10 of the 12 MiBs I saved up to do today... And I've fished up an additional 3 MiBs with the "sunken treasure". I'm not complaining, it's just seems kind of funny considering how long it took me to fish up the initial MiBs (otherwise the rate does seems to be a bit slow these days, but it could be a statistical anomoly that will balance out).

I fish up my SOS the way I all ways did back in the day. (a trick showed to me when I made my first fisherman in 99) and doing so I all ways pulled up 5 to 30 per SOS. So I see no difference at all to how it was back then and now. My Vendors had tons of paintings as well as other fished up rares. Once I even had to prove to a OSI Gm that I was not cheating and exploiting a bug of some kind.
So I notice no difference at all from then to now.

This doesn't seem to have been fixed. On my last MIB run there were several chests that had well over 20 pieces pulled up before the chest itself. One such SOS I actually counted the pulled up items. 42. Forty-two items were pulled up before the chest itself.

Wow, I did 5 MIBs today, and between the 5 I pulled up a total of 5 items (combined)....3 of the 5 I fished the chest straigt up.
